Eye Candy: Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 Smoked Lacquered Dials
About a month ago, Audemars Piguet released the new lacquered dials on the Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 as well as the new CODE 11.59 Two-Tone references. A very controversial watch at the time of its launch and a watch that has drastically grown on us thanks to the release of these new smoked lacquered dials. Audemars Piguet hit an absolute home run with the new dials and new two-tone models. After perusing all watches in the metal with the exception of the purple dial one which was not available, we were blown away by them.

At the time of its launch, the CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet was a very controversial watch that got a lot of bad press. While we were not the biggest fans of it, we remained respectful and admitted that a few of the models were pretty good and others not so much. With the release of the new lacquered dial references and two new two-tone models, the CODE 11.59 takes on a second chance to change people’s opinions, and oh boy, Audemars Piguet hit an absolute home run with the new dials and new two-tone models.
Rare Bird: Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date 'President' ref. 19018. A Timeless Iconic Watch.
The Rolex Oysterquartz has now been discontinued for almost 17 years. The watch was the first Rolex to be fitted with a sapphire crystal and originally launched in 1977 in stainless steel, stainless steel with white gold bezel, stainless steel and 18K yellow gold, 18K white gold, and 18K yellow gold. It has been estimated that in all, close to 25,000 Rolex Oysterquartz watches were ever produced.
