Along with the new revolutionary Panerai LAB-ID Luminor 1950 Carbotech PAM 700 —we brought you here— released by Panerai at the SIHH 2017, the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee presented a second watch also quite revolutionary, but in a different way. Equipped with an invisible but revolutionary innovation, the new Panerai Submersible 1950 BMG-Tech 3 Days Automatic PAM 692 sports a case, bezel, crown and protecting device in BMG-Tech —where BMG stands for Bulk Metallic Glass. This material similar to titanium but darker grey is also extremely resistant and quite light.

This year at the SIHH 2017, Roger Dubuis announced its partnership with Pirelli and a strategy based on disruptive materials and progressive complications. As part of their new alliance with Pirelli, there are two new watches —the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon and the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Automatic Skeleton — that we'll talk about in a couple of days. A watch that is not part of this alliance but one of the most impressive timepieces unveiled at the Salon this year is the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Cobalt Micro-Melt.

Last year during Baselworld 2016, to celebrate their 225th anniversary Girard-Perregaux brought back the iconic Girard-Perregaux Laureato in a limited edition of 225 pieces in stainless steel with blue or white dial and measuring 41 mm in diameter —we brought you our hands-on review here. This year, Girard-Perregaux was back at the SIHH Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie —after four brief years exhibiting at Baselworld— and to mark their return, they launched a whole new Laureato collection with watches in three different sizes: 34 mm Quartz powered and automatic 38 mm and 42 mm.

Lange & Söhne Lange 31 has been the first and only mechanical wristwatch with a power reserve of 31 days and a patented constant-force escapement that continuously delivers uniform torque. Last week at the SIHH 2017 in Geneva, A. Lange & Söhne unveiled a new variation of the Lange 31 —up until now only available in platinum as ref. 130.025 or in 18K rose gold as ref. 130.032— in 18K white gold with a grey dial. This new watch is limited to 100 watches.

One of our favorite releases at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève SIHH 2017 were the three new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control models with sector two-tone dials. Three new additions to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 44 mm collection were just released at the SIHH 2017. The first, a completely new model that combines a titanium case with a black ceramic bezel, the second a new dial version for the all black ceramic —case and bezel— reference and third a new dial for the 18K rose gold and black ceramic Royal Oak Offshore 44 mm. All three new watches maintain the same case proportions at 44 mm in diameter and 14.4 mm in thickness, black ceramic bezels, pushers and screw-down crowns in black ceramic, titanium pusher guards and display case backs.
