Every time we travel, we end up meeting new watch collectors who decide to open the doors of their homes to us and share their world and passion for watches and other indulgences. Some of them are OK with us documenting these visits and sharing them with our readers, and others are way too private to even allow us to take any pictures of what they are sharing with us.
The Watch Collectors: @Jardin_des_rois. A Hardcore Lover of Haute Horlogerie and Independent Brands.
A watch collector like @Jardin_des_rois is the kind of watch collector that we would love to meet every time we run into a new watch collector or when we hang out with a new group of watch collectors. He is the co-founder of bespoke watch strap maker Alex Crown and a real lover of horology in the truest sense of the word. His love for independent horologists and haute horlogerie can be truly appreciated through his Instagram posts and everyday life. A watch collector who breathes watches and believes in fine watchmaking at its best.
The Watch Collectors: @Time_Mechanic Ahmed Rahman. A Collector that Needs Very Little Introduction.
@Time_Mechanic needs very little to no introduction. Ahmed Rahman —widely known as Shary— is the epitome of a real and very savvy watch collector with the finest taste in clothes and cigars. A fine gentleman originally from Bangladesh who resides in London, he is not only one of the most stylish men in the watch-collecting world but he is also an Academy Member at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève —GPHG— and a Juror for the coveted watch prize in 2021.
The Watch Collectors: @TheTexasWatchCollector. A True Texan and a Lover of All Things AP and Rolex.
@TheTexasWatchCollector is one of our favorite watch collectors in the Lone Star State whom we met through Instagram. While his Instagram account is not one of those with thousands of followers, we enjoy his posts with a true Texan charm and a down-to-earth attitude. With an impressive collection heavy on the Audemars Piguet side of things, his comradery and positivity come through his posts on the gram.
The Watch Collectors: @TheHoracle. West Coast Collector with 50+ Watches in His Collecting Journey.
@TheHoracle is one of our favorite watch collectors we met through Instagram. His close to 36K followers are delighted daily with some amazing watch photography that he posts. Located on the West Coast he’s a true watch collector in all the sense of the word.
The Watch Collectors: @Hairdude. Proud to Call Him a Friend Since Before WCL Launched in Chicago in 2013.
Our friend @Hairdude is a unique watch collector with 11.1K followers on Instagram whom we are honored to call a dear friend. In the span of 11 years, we’ve seen his collection grow exponentially into an impressive very high-end well-curated watch collection. We still remember —like it was yesterday— the day we met @Hairdude back in 2012 at a Rolex Forums meet-up at Goose Island Beer Taproom in Chicago.
The Watch Collectors: @GregWatchman. One of the Finest Collectors in the Midwest.
Our friend @GregWatchman is a unique watch collector who we need to thank for his service as a Federal Agent. When it comes to his watches and firearms, he is one of the finest collectors in the Midwest.
From the Archives: Impressive Collection of Audemars Piguet Watches, Porsches and Diecast Scale Cars.
Continuing with the series where we showcase some of the most impressive and versatile watch collections in the world, this is the time to share with you a watch collection mainly composed of Audemars Piguet timepieces. Since often, it is quite common to find that watch collectors happen to also be collectors of many other objects of desire; this AP watch collection ended up taking the backseat as we were blown away by an even more impressive car collection —mostly Porsches— and one of the world's largest diecast scale 1:18 and 1:12 cars also in possession of this watch collector.
From the Archives: Because Every Watch Has a Story. 'Dad's Missing Watch' by Matt Jackson.
Today, we start a new installment called 'Watch Stories', because every vintage watch, passed down family heirloom or preowned watch comes with a little bit of history. Unlike the rest of our content, these stories are shared and written by the actual watch collectors owning these watches. For these new section, our involvement will be limited to photographing the watches in their full glory and to editing, proofreading and style correcting the write-ups.
The Watch Collectors: @ilikerolexes An Impressive Collector that Loves Rolex and Patek Philippe
We’ve said it before, watch collectors come in all sizes and types. From all sorts of personalities, styles, and tastes. While it is interesting to see what Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes like own when it comes to watches, there is nothing more rewarding than to see the watch collection of that normal guy or gal that we can relate to as mere mortals.
The Watch Collectors: @NYCWatchGuy. An Incredible Watch Collecting Journey Well Documented on 'The Gram'.
As many of you know, Instagram is the favorite social media platform for hard core watch collectors. One thing all these accounts have in common is that all the content is created by their owners portraying their journey through watch collecting. As we've said it before, watch collecting is a journey not a destination. Despite that there are hundreds of watch related accounts we follow on the gram, there are probably a couple dozen watch collectors we really admire and we would like to feature them here on WCL. Therefore, today, we will be talking about @NYCWatchGuy, a young watch collector with 17,000+ followers —and counting— and someone who clearly embraces our motto that watch collecting is all about the journey.
Experience: A Very Impressive Collection of Precious Metal Modern Timepieces. When You Can Have Them All and Then Some.
Watch collectors come in all sizes and types. From all sorts of personalities, styles, and tastes. While it is interesting to see what Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes like own when it comes to watches, there is nothing more rewarding than to see the watch collection of that normal guy or gal that we can relate to as mere mortals. As we’ve done it since day one, here at WCL we don’t recourse to using musicians, movie stars or major athletes when it comes to showing you impressive watch collections, instead, we just like to keep it plain and simple and showcase those collections that belong to those discreet and somewhat mysterious watch collectors with a fine taste for timepieces.
The Watch Collectors: @RJKama. The Doctor that Likes to Be Called SUPERDOC.
We met @RJKama at an Omega watch collector’s hospitality trip, and after instantly clicking with him, we became close friends. We still remember back then when we would pressure him non-stop about opening an Instagram account, and he wouldn’t do it. Finally, after several attempts on our end, he surprised the social media world with his passion for watches and incredible photography. @RJKama is a doctor that likes to be called SUPERDOC, and that sees health as a sensation of well being instead of an absence of disease. After launching his IG account many years ago, he rapidly became a most follow account for those looking for incredible photography of Omega timepieces with a very particular look and feel. Without a doubt, this is one of the most interesting interviews we’ve published on Watch Collectors here at WCL.
Now, you’ll hear straight from him all that he wants to share about this fantastic hobby that brought us together in the first place.

Our very own special Instagram contributor located in Singapore and a well-rounded watch collector, @orangedial17 is very well known for his stellar photography as one of Asia’s finest collectors. Not only @orangedial17 is a good friend of ours but someone that we also admire from a watch collecting standpoint. A longtime contributor to The Rolex Forums, The Purists and Timezone, he is a watch collector that is easily recognized because he is either wearing his very unique Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono in 18K white gold with salmon dial or his 36 mm Royal Oak in Tantalum.
The Watch Collectors: @Jfdorozco. A Watch Collecting Journey Destined to Own the Most Iconic Watches in the World.
When you think of that one watch collector on Instagram that is always striving to get his hands on the most pristine examples of some of the most iconic watches in the world, the first name that comes to mind is @Jfdorozco. From his mint Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3700 to his ultra crisp Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 5402ST and everything in between, the condition of his vintage watches is simply out of this world and a real treat for the eyes. A real watch collector and not a watch dealer disguised as watch collector like many out there, @Jfdorozco holds very high standards when it comes to the watches he buys and the same rule applies to how he chooses to engage with his followers on Instagram.
The Watch Collectors: @Bharmon417. A Young Watch Collector that Happens to Also be an Incredible Photographer.
If you follow watch content accounts on Instagram that are known for some of the best photography, then the handle @Bharmon417 might not be new to you. A young watch collector that happens to also be a professional photographer, @Bharmon417 is not only passionate about Panerai, Audemars Piguet and Rolex, but all those other things we like to refer here at WCL as the good life. With eye-catching photo compositions that are the perfect embodiment of the hashtag #WatchLife we created five years ago, @Bharmon417 is a watch collector truly enjoying the journey and not so worried about the destination…
The Watch Collectors: @APKStyle. A Real Watchlifestyler Passionate About the Finer Things in Life.
What started as a simple ‘Follow Back’ on the ‘Gram’ has now turned into a friendship with a fine Irish gentleman that calls London his home. With an eye for photography, a passion for the good life and a real addiction to Goyard and Mount Street Shoe Company loafers comes @APKStyle. After finally meeting in person this friendly Londoner at the Hotel Les Trois Rois during Baselworld 2018, all we can say is that his content on Instagram is not ‘smoke and mirrors’ but the real deal.
Watch Stories: Gone but Not Forgotten, Because Every Watch Has a Story. 'Dad's Missing Watch' by Matt Jackson.
Today, we start a new installment called 'Watch Stories', because every vintage watch, passed down family heirloom or preowned watch comes with a little bit of history. Experience: 10 Watch Collector Accounts on IG We Love. Go Follow Them If You're Not Already Doing So.
As many of you know, over the past six months, the visibility of accounts with a very large number of followers like ours, has been compromised by Instagram's desire to drive up their advertising revenue. As our following on Instagram has plateaued at the 125,800 follower mark and the number of likes per post have significantly dropped no matter how hard we try, we find it harder and harder to feel motivated to spend as much time posting as we used to and liking posts of those that we follow.
