When you have the Monday Blues, a blue dial watch is the best way to celebrate the start of a new workweek and fight the low energy you have coming from a fun weekend. The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time ref. 7900V with blue dial was released at the end of 2017. Now powered by an in-house calibre —unlike its predecessor—, the latest generation of the Overseas Dual Time also boasts a new case design and dial layout. Fitted with a 41 mm case the watch is available in either 18K 5N rose gold or stainless steel with its iconic bezel evoking Vacheron Constantin’s famous Maltese cross emblem.
But not only the latest Overseas Dual Time features a new layout, new case and new movement, this amazing timepiece also features the one-click interchangeable strap system that allows you to go from a stainless steel bracelet to an alligator or rubber strap —both included with the watch— in a matter of seconds. Additionally, its blue lacquered dial is a true chameleon depending on lighting conditions.
While the faceted and luminescent gold hands and hour-markers provide amazing contrast and glow, the AM/PM indicator adds that incredible amount of contrast like a cherry on top of the cake. Not to mention that the date indicator subdial with its matte snailed finish adds yet another interesting touch to the incredible dual. Oh, and did we mention the applied Maltese cross logo?
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time ref. 7900V is now powered by the newly developed in-house calibre 5110 DT, which is a major upgrade from its predecessor The new 234-part movement is a 37 jewel movement that oscillates at a frequency of 4 Hz —28,800 vph— to provide a 60-hour power reserve with twin barrels. For the price, this is the best medicine one can have for the Monday Blues.
