Insider: CVSTOS Jetliner Challenge K. Khachanov. An Ultra-Light Limited Edition.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, CVSTOS has decided to partner with Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov and release a new watch within the Jetliner collection. The new CVSTOS Challenge K. Khachanov is cased in aluminum, features a blue PVD-coated skeletonized movement, and is secured by a blue fabric and velcro-fastened strap with leather appliques.

CVSTOS began its story in 2005, established by Sassoun Sirmakes —son of Vartan Sirmakes, co-founder and current CEO of the Franck Muller Watchland Group—and Antonio Terranova, a micro-technical specialist with watch design expertise. For two decades, they've created distinctive timepieces featuring exceptional craftsmanship.

Karen Abgarovich Khachanov is a Russian professional tennis player who reached a career-high ranking of world No. 8 in men's singles in July 2019. His achievements include seven ATP Tour singles titles, most notably the 2018 Paris Masters, a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and has advanced to two Grand Slam semifinals at the 2022 U.S. Open and the 2023 Australian Open.

The new CVSTOS Jetliner Challenge K. Khachanov ref. A10113.4193001 has been released in a highly exclusive 50-piece limited edition. The 41 mm case—53.7 mm in length and 41 mm across— and the manual wound movement powering this watch are a match made in heaven.

Things to Know About the Watch

Designed in collaboration with the Russian tennis star, the new CVSTOS Jetliner Challenge K. Khachanov watch exemplifies the brand's commitment to technical innovation and modern aesthetic sensibilities. The watch features a distinctive 41 mm tonneau-shaped case in super light aluminum—a total weight of only 55 grams.

It has a blue skeletonized dial with a prominent three split-bridge titanium movement architecture—resembling the curved lines on a tennis ball— and a blue flange with a minute track and numerals in white. This color scheme is likely a nod to Khachanov's athletic career, with blue being a color frequently associated with tennis courts and sporting events.

The tonneau-shaped case features sharp, architectural lines that give it a contemporary, sporty appearance. The blue accents throughout the skeletonized dial create a striking visual effect against the metallic components of the movement. The two-piece case with no bezel —case, and bezel are one—features a combination of satin-brushed finishes and micro-bead blasting with intricate grooves on the caseband and the top, showcasing the attention to detail given by the brand.

The screw-down crown with blue rubber insert ring and the CVSTOS technology signature screws are in Grade 5 titanium. But the real star here is the movement that can be fully appreciated through the front and the back with unparalleled transparency. The CVSTOS Jetliner Challenge K. Khachanov is water resistant to 100 meters.

The CVSTOS Jetliner Challenge K. Khachanov is delivered on a blue fabric strap with blue calf leather appliques and is secured with a velcro and a loop buckle.

The Movement

The open-worked dial reveals the sophisticated mechanical movement within. The in-house CVSTOS calibre CVS610 powers this watch. This manual wound movement features blue PVD coating, rhodium-treated and skeletonized bridges with very high-end finishing that includes satin-brushed finishing, exquisite chamfering, and blued screws. The visible gears and bridges showcase the brand's dedication to mechanical excellence and transparency—literally and figuratively—in their watchmaking approach. This manual wound movement provides a power reserve of 70 hours when fully wound. Throughout the case back, one can find the information about this 20th anniversary limited edition.
