W&W 2025: Rolex Land-Dweller Everose Gold Diamond-Set Bezel ref. 127385TBR (Live Photos)

One of our favorites from the new Rolex Land-Dweller lineup with its vibes matching the discontinued gold Rolex Beta 21 ref. 5100 “Texano“ and the discontinued Rolex Oysterquartz ref. 19018 in yellow gold, is the Rolex Land-Dweller Everose Gold Diamond-Set Bezel ref. 127385TBR. Its 40 mm Everose gold case is paired with an intense white honeycomb motif dial with a satin finish and set with 10 baguette-cut diamonds serving as its markers, and a bezel set with 40 baguette-cut diamonds.

The new Rolex Land-Dweller Everose Gold Diamond-Set Bezel ref. 127385TBR has a strong and hefty presence on the wrist with a total weight of 181 grams but is not as top-heavy as the platinum Land-Dweller Ice-Blue ref. 127336 which has a total weight of 283 grams. As a reference the Rolex Land-Dweller 40 Stainless Steel ref. 127334 has a total weight of 138.4 grams.

The resemblance to the discontinued Oysterquartz ref. 19018 is unmistakable. Below you will find a picture of its sibling from the late 1970s. This distinctive model seamlessly married Rolex's famed precision with the innovative technology of quartz movement, marking a unique chapter in the brand's history. Introduced in the late 1970s, this watch featured a 36 mm case and an integrated bracelet enhancing its sleek profile.

Things to Know About the Watch

The dial of the new Rolex Land-Dweller features a honeycomb pattern created using a femtosecond laser, which also etches fine lines in the grooves between cells. Ten baguette-cut diamonds mark the hours on the dial. For the bezel, skilled gem-setters carefully carve the gold to create precise settings for each of the 40 baguette-cut gemstones. Each stone is individually placed, aligned perfectly with the others, and securely set in gold. The beauty of the Rolex gem setting depends on multiple factors: precise height alignment, proper orientation and positioning, consistent and proportionate settings, and meticulous metal finishing. This brilliant combination enhances the watch's elegance and captivates the wearer.

The Land-Dweller reimagines the integrated bracelet watch design, creating a seamless flow between case and bracelet. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Jubilee bracelet first seen on the 1945 Datejust, the Flat Jubilee bracelet was created specifically for the Land-Dweller with its five links. What sets it apart among Rolex’s metal bracelets is the distinctive flat surface of its links—a unique characteristic in the collection.

The new Rolex Land-Dweller Everose Gold ref. 127385TBR showcases elegant finishing details, with polished center links complemented by outer links that feature technical satin finishing on top and polished sides. Viewed from the side, polished chamfers along the top edges of both case and outer links create a continuous circle of light, accentuating the timepiece's balanced and harmonious aesthetic.

The Movement

The new Land-Dweller features a display case back offering a complete view of the innovative calibre 7135. At its heart lies the revolutionary Dynapulse escapement, which fundamentally reimagines the traditional Swiss lever escapement. This sequential distribution escapement transmits energy through rolling motion rather than sliding. A transmission wheel connected to the barrel drives two specially designed distribution wheels that activate an impulse rocker, maintaining the balance wheel's oscillation. Crafted primarily from silicon with an innovative architecture, the Dynapulse escapement is extremely lightweight, virtually immune to magnetic fields, and significantly more energy-efficient than conventional escapements.

Developed and manufactured entirely in-house, calibre 7135 operates at an impressive 5 hertz—36,000vph—a frequency never before achieved by Rolex. This allows time measurement to one-tenth of a second. Building upon the calibre 7140 found in the Perpetual 1908, this new automatic mechanical movement delivers exceptional performance in precision, power reserve, convenience, and reliability. Its aesthetic appeal is equally impressive. Through the transparent case back, one can admire the cut-out yellow gold oscillating weight and the refined Rolex Côtes de Genève decoration adorning the bridges.

On the Wrist & Price

The Rolex Land-Dweller Everose Gold Diamond-Set Bezel ref. 127385TBR sits magnificently on the wrist, striking an impressive balance between substantial presence and refined comfort. The weight of the Everose gold case and bracelet provides a reassuring heft that continuously reminds the wearer of its premium craftsmanship without becoming burdensome during extended wear. The integrated design of the case and Flat Jubilee bracelet allows the watch to contour naturally to the wrist's anatomy, creating a seamless, flowing silhouette. The bracelet's alternating polished center links and satin-finished outer links catch and reflect light differently as you move, creating a subtle play of textures that enhances the warm rose gold tones of the Everose alloy.
