A new art and timepiece exhibition has just opened up at the Vacheron Constantin New York City Flagship. Dive into an exploration of earth’s organic and complicated structures alongside the artistry of Vacheron Constantin’s timepieces in ‘The Anatomy of Beauty’ exhibition from April through September 2022. Vacheron Constantin creates an immersive experience that shines light upon the layered and minute details that create beauty through a curated collection of extraordinary watches alongside larger than life depictions of coral, and the viscerally moving artwork, ‘These Waters’, by artist Melissa McGill.

Vacheron Constantin is offering a new interpretation of its Overseas perpetual calendar ultra-thin skeleton model in 18K 5N pink gold with a blue dial. The watch, which won a prize in the 2020 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, is equipped with Manufacture Calibre 1120 QPSQ/1 measuring just 4.05 mm thick. Watch Auctions: Phillips 'The Royal Oak 50th Auction'. Sale Includes a 5402 'A-series' Case No. 2 and 25th Anniversary Tourbillon ref. 25831ST Case No. 1.

Phillips will host a sale especially dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak which will take place at the Hôtel La Réserve in Geneva, Switzerland on May 6, 2022. This sale will feature several historically important watches including case No. 2 of the original Royal Oak ‘Jumbo’ reference 5402ST. This is the earliest example known to come to the watch auction market. The highlights also include case No.1 of the 25th anniversary Royal Oak Automatique Tourbillon and Karl Lagerfeld’s PVD coated Royal Oak ‘Jumbo’ ref. 5402ST.

From the Editor: Cartier the 2nd Largest Watch Brand, Audemars Piguet the 4th, and Patek Philippe Falls to 6th Place.

Morgan Stanley just released a piece of research that includes the estimated revenue and units sold by the top 50 Swiss watch brands. While the rankings are relatively similar to what has been published by them in previous years, there are a few surprises. For the very first time, Audemars Piguet has surpassed Patek Philippe in terms of revenue and consolidated its spot as the 4th most important watch brand with a revenue of almost 1.6 billion Swiss Francs.

The original Casquette was produced from 1976 to 1978. During that period, Girard-Perregaux made 8200 examples of this innovative quartz watch. Over the years, it has become much sought after by watch aficionados and style-conscious wearers. Now, the GP Casquette returns named Casquette 2.0. This new model upholds the design language of the original but is now encased in ceramic with a grade 5 titanium case back.

News: Bonhams to Auction Sir Michael Caine's Personal Watch Collection

The personal watch collection of Sir Michael Caine and Lady Shakira Caine will be offered for sale at Bonhams in London on March 2, 2022 as part of the Sir Michael Caine: The Personal Collection Sale. Along with the watches a collection of three black and white photographs of them from the 1970s will be also offered as part of the sale. Among the watches in the collection four pieces stand out including Sir Michael’s 18K gold Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date reference 19018 which he has owned since 1979 and which appears in several films, most famously in ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.’
