News: Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie with Paillonnée Dials
Continuing with the development of the CODE 11.59 collection, Audemars Piguet has just released the Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie ref. 26397BC.OO.D002CR.01, each endowed with a unique bespoke enamel dial crafted by Anita Porchet and her atelier. These refined wristwatches pay tribute to generations of craftspeople who have continuously leveraged pioneering technologies, while never losing sight of their ancestral craftsmanship. Chiming watches bring us back to the origins of time measurement devices: invented in the 14th century, striking clocks chimed time exclusively as they were devoid of dials.
From the Editor: AP Royal Oaks Selling in Excess of $38K USD, the Watch Market has Gone Crazy
Two weeks ago I wrote an article on the Rolex Submariner Hulk reaching an all-time high in the secondary market. Today, I am going to be talking about the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 15500ST reaching another all-time high. While the global pandemic follows its course and mortgage interest rates hit an all-time low under 3%, all I can think of is the secondary watch market and how it’s gone totally crazy. Every week I check the for sale listings across different watch fora and the websites of some of the most important watch dealers in the world, to get a sense of what the watch market looks like

Eye Candy: Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 Smoked Lacquered Dials
About a month ago, Audemars Piguet released the new lacquered dials on the Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 as well as the new CODE 11.59 Two-Tone references. A very controversial watch at the time of its launch and a watch that has drastically grown on us thanks to the release of these new smoked lacquered dials. Audemars Piguet hit an absolute home run with the new dials and new two-tone models. After perusing all watches in the metal with the exception of the purple dial one which was not available, we were blown away by them.

At the time of its launch, the CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet was a very controversial watch that got a lot of bad press. While we were not the biggest fans of it, we remained respectful and admitted that a few of the models were pretty good and others not so much. With the release of the new lacquered dial references and two new two-tone models, the CODE 11.59 takes on a second chance to change people’s opinions, and oh boy, Audemars Piguet hit an absolute home run with the new dials and new two-tone models.

Experience: Audemars Piguet Highland Park Village Dallas. A Very Long Awaited Boutique.
Rumors about the opening of an Audemars Piguet Boutique in Dallas had been going on for a while after Eiseman Jewelers quit carrying the brand back in 2018. While many watch collectors thought that Dallas would never have an Audemars Piguet Boutique —as this is a major Rolex town—, to everyone’s surprise, the work for the boutique started last summer. Opened in partnership with Material Goods out of New York City, the new Audemars Piguet Boutique was set to open months ago but the Covid-19 pandemic drastically delayed the opening date.

Experience: The Making of an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Our visit to the Audemars Piguet Manufacture was documented almost two years ago here. But today, we are going to show you through our images and some of the videos produced by Audemars Piguet, the making of the iconic Royal Oak. When you walk through the doors of the newest and largest building at the Audemars Piguet manufacture suited up in an electric blue guest lab coat you know you are about to experience how the magic is done at Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus. The making of an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak involves dozens of tasks and a mastery that you only obtain after breaking the rules. To break the rules, you must first master them.
Experience: The Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus. A Watch Museum Like No Other.
We still remember like it was yesterday, our first visit in 2013 to what is now ‘the old Audemars Piguet Museum’. The original museum was nestled in the historical building where Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet established the manufacture in 1875 in Le Brassus, Switzerland. The ‘old AP museum’ was very small, intimate, and a space full of charm that transported you back in time. However, it lacked the necessary space to properly showcase a large number of historical pieces in the museum’s collection, and it wasn’t very functional due to its multilevel layout.

Experience: Audemars Piguet Automatic Movement Oversized Scale Model. Simply Incredible for the Home or the Office.
If you ever dreamed of what a supersized reproduction of an Audemars Piguet movement would look like sitting on your desk, dream no further. Audemars Piguet has just made available what in our opinion is one of the coolest and most incredible watch related items that a watch collector could own. This actual reproduction of a selfwinding Audemars Piguet movement that is not the 40-jewel calibre 3120 nor the new 38-jewle calibre 4302, is an exact reproduction of an actual AP movement with all of its components —all of them of course supersized more than hundred or a thousand times. Even the jewels, bridges, the architecture and finishes are exactly done in the exact same way.
News: Presenting the Audemars Piguet [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph
People are very cognizant of the design shakeup that took place in the 1970s and in the early 2000s. However, creative expressions of case form and dial design have occurred during every decade of our history. For the new Audemars Piguet [Re]master01, the brand is exploring the strength and elegance of one of their chronograph wristwatches from 1943 through the prism of 2020. This is not a historic reissue but a contemporary remastering of one of their past creations.
