In the garden of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso One watches blooms a new Reverso One Precious Colors—cased in 18K white gold— and two Reverso One Precious Flowers—cased in 18K pink gold. Masterfully blending watchmaking excellence with high jewelry craftsmanship, these new watches create a refined artistic statement unlike any other. All watches are available in a limited edition of only 10 pieces each.
All three watches feature a case measuring 40 x 20 x 9.09 mm in 18K white gold and 18K pink gold respectively and are equipped with a white mother-of-pearl dial with black transferred Arabic numerals, a diamond cabochon—0.05 carats—on their crown, a double folding buckle, and all are powered by the manual wound JLC calibre 846 which provides a power reserve of 50 hours.
The creation of these watches requires up to 10 separate applications of enamel and subsequent firings, with each layer applied individually to achieve the perfect depth of color, tonal variations, and intensity. What makes this work particularly challenging is how the floral design elegantly wraps around the case edges, flowing seamlessly from the back to the bezel, navigating both curves and angles that significantly increase the complexity of the artisan's task.
Then, the gem-setter devotes countless hours to the precise placement of brilliant-cut diamonds in varying sizes. Each stone is individually positioned side by side, completely covering the remaining precious metal and creating an exquisite frame for the flowers and foliage. The snow-setting technique employed gives each watch its distinctive character, ensuring that no two pieces are identical among the limited edition of 10 pieces each.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One Precious Colors
On the edges of its enameled and gem-set case set with 276 diamonds—totaling 1.54 carats—the Reverso One Precious Colors watch reveals on the recto, a part of the elaborate geometric pattern adorning the reverse. Once turned over, the case back reveals a tangle of geometric shapes hand-painted in Grand Feu enamel in bright pastel tones.
Rows of brilliant-cut diamonds capture the light to illuminate the colored lines, forming squares and triangles in miniature painted enamel. Fully embodying the Art Deco style, the pattern complements the Art Deco bracket transferred on the mother-of-pearl dial. It takes around a hundred hours of hand-work at the Métiers Rares atelier to elevate this watch to a high standard of jewelry-making.
