W&W 2025: Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh 'Siyavush Plays Polo' (Live Photos)

Since its creation in 1931, the back of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso has been a constant artistic canvas. As a tribute to the origins of miniature painting and the decorative crafts performed within the Manufacture at the Métiers Rares workshop and drawing inspiration from a collection of stories written by Persian poet Ferdowsi in The Shahnameh—the Book of Kings in Persian—, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents four limited edition watches showcasing guilloché enamel dials and enamel miniature painting case backs.

The watches are cased in 18K white gold with a case measuring 45.6 x 27.4 x 9.73 mm and are powered by the manual wound Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 822 composed of 108 parts and which provides a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound.

Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh ‘Siyavush Plays Polo’

Craftsmen have reproduced a polo match on the reverse of the Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh ‘Siyavush Plays Polo’ as it was played in Persia in the Middle Ages. Riders and horses face off under a blue sky studded with stars and gold leaves. The reproduction of the original illustration is the result of 100 hours of manual labor, requiring several passes through an 800-degree Celsius oven. On the front, a blue hand-guilloché enamel dial bursting from the center to the periphery completes the watch.
