Released back in January at the SIHH 2018, the latest iteration of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph in 18K pink gold a.k.a. 'The Brick' is now sporting a gorgeous 'Méga Tapisserie' grey ruthenium-toned dial with contrasting ivory-toned counters. The new watch is exactly like the previous iteration of the Royal Oak Offshore ref. 26470OR but with a much more appealing dial. The 18K pink gold case and bracelet harmonize flawlessly against the unique tone of the dial and the inner bezel. Without a doubt, this is the best 'Brick' ever. A flashy but classy statement piece for those that strive for the best.
Its 42 mm case fitted with black ceramic pushers and screw-down crown has carefully evolved in the last 25 years without compromising the DNA and original design cues of the first Royal Oak Offshore launched in 1993.
Powered by the automatic calibre 3126/3840 composed of 365 parts, the movement provides a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound.
With a total weight of 334 grams —on bracelet—, the Royal Oak Offshore in 18K rose gold 'The Brick' is literally like wearing a brick on the wrist. Heavy, massive and powerful are some of the words that come to mind when wearing this watch. While we prefer the much thicker bracelet throughout on the previous generation of Royal Oak Offshore 'Bricks', not everyone can handle over 420 grams of pure gold goodness.
