Things to Know About the Watch
Cased in a generous 46 mm stainless steel case that has been DLC coated with a dark grey gunmetal color and sandblasted for a unique appearance, the tourbillon takes the center stage highlighted by a skeletonized and mirror-polished top bridge with the one-minute tourbillon featuring the traditional Arnold & Son three-spoke design. With its red gold finishing, the contrast of the movement against the dark grey gunmetal case is simply exceptional.
Weighing mere fractions of a gram, the tourbillon cage consists of no less than 58 components. Prominently positioned on the dial side, the tourbillon can also be viewed from the back, thanks to an opening in the main plate.
With a fully skeletonized dial, the small seconds indicator between 7 and 8 o'clock are the second most prominent element on this dial adding to the symmetric design and exquisite layout.
The Strap
Making the watch very modern and quite stealth looking, the Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chronometer No. 36 Gunmetal is fitted with a black Cordura 1100 —aramid fiber like— strap with pin buckle. The strap features calfskin leather lining, calfskin keepers and a calfskin reinforcement where the holes are located.
The Movement
The Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chronometer No. 36 Gunmetal Edition is powered by the manual wound movement calibre A&S8600. This COSC movement with 33 jewels and double barrel, provides a power reserve of 90 hours when fully wound while beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
