The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT gets a green ceramic new look. With its asymmetric look and contemporary architecture, the first AP Royal Oak Concept was launched in 2002 as ref. 25980AI.OO.0003SU.01 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of the iconic Royal Oak in a limited edition of 150 pieces. Then in 2011, AP launched the first Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon ref. 26560IO.OO.D002CA.01 which you can read about here.
The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT ref. 26589IO.OO.D056CA.01 features a fully revealed flying tourbillon at 9 o'clock enhanced by the powerful mix of a sandblasted 44 mm titanium case and a green ceramic bezel — a first in the collection. The black architectural movement features green CVD-coloured inserts matching the bezel’s hue. There is no limitation for this watch, but for sure it will be impossible to get unless you know how to play the game.
The sandblasted titanium case and green ceramic bezel bring a totally new look to an already stunning watch. Additionally, the watch features green ceramic pushers and a green ceramic screw-locked crown. With a water resistance of 100 meters, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT Green Ceramic is delivered on a textured green rubber strap with sandblasted titanium AP folding clasp and an additional black rubber strap.
The dial features a second-time zone indicator at 3 o’clock on a sapphire disc, a crown position indicator at 6 o’clock, and a flying tourbillon at 9 o’clock.
Turning the watch over reveals the same AP calibre 2954 powering the previous Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon GMTs. This manual wound movement provides an impressive 10-day power reserve while beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph.
