W&W 2025: Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Titanium (Live Photos)

The Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Titanium stands as a breathtaking testament to horological transparency—an open-worked masterpiece meticulously skeletonized to reveal the mesmerizing architecture of its mechanical heart. This new watch embodies the essence of skeletonization—a technique deeply embedded in Mr. Armin Strom's watchmaking philosophy and heritage.

While the 2023 Armin Strom One Week model already featured open-worked elements, this new iteration takes the concept significantly further by removing additional material to accentuate the movement's intricate complexity.

Things to Know About the Watch

Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Titanium represents a remarkable fusion of technical innovation and artistic expression. Housed in a sophisticated 41 mm case crafted from grade 5 titanium, this remarkable creation achieves an ideal balance between structural integrity and wearable comfort. The premium titanium alloy delivers exceptional durability while maintaining a featherlight presence on the wrist thanks to its titanium integrated bracelet that is somewhat reminiscent of the bracelet on the Zenith DEFY El Primero 21 also in titanium. The bracelet is very well-finished and quite comfortable.

The dial, or rather the absence of it, allows an unobstructed view of the calibre while maintaining perfect legibility through strategically positioned hour markers and precisely balanced hands. This transparency extends to the case back, offering a complete view of the manufacture movement from every angle.

The small seconds indicator at 9 o’clock has been meticulously skeletonized, creating a captivating window that reveals both the power reserve indicator at 10 o’clock and the escapement wheel—delivering a mesmerizing three-dimensional mechanical animation. The mainplate and barrel bridges have also undergone extensive skeletonization, substantially enhancing the watch's aesthetic appeal while maintaining structural integrity.

The Movement

At the heart of this timepiece lies Armin Strom's in-house calibre ARM21 featuring the week-long power reserve that gives the timepiece its name. This extended autonomy derives from a meticulously engineered barrel system, visible through the skeleton work and indicative of the brand's technical prowess.

Inside, two barrels work in series to ensure consistent energy delivery for an entire week. At its core, finger bridges with clean, geometrical lines hold the two barrels in perfect symmetry, occupying the right-hand side of the movement. The energy is displayed through a power reserve indicator whose mechanism is inspired by the cone system of historical pocket watches. But has been reinterpreted with modern technology.

On the Wrist & Price

The One Week Skeleton Titanium represents the pinnacle of Armin Strom's expertise in both watchmaking innovation and artistic expression. On the wrist, it delivers a surprisingly comfortable wearing experience despite its mechanical complexity. Its grade 5 titanium construction creates a lightweight presence that belies its substantial architecture, making it suitable for all-day wear.
