W&W 2025: Angelus Chronographe Télémètre Monopusher (Live Photos)

The Angelus Chronographe Télémètre represents a sophisticated return to form for the historic Swiss watchmaker. This new timepiece draws inspiration from the brand's rich heritage of precision chronographs while incorporating modern watchmaking techniques. This new watch is presented in 3N yellow gold with a white-nickel domed dial—limited to 15 pieces— ref. 0CHCQ.I01A.V010Q, and in stainless steel with either a grey-titanium domed dial—limited to 25 pieces—ref. 0CHCS.G01A.V010S or rose-bronze domed dial—limited to 25 pieces—ref. 0CHCS.P01A.V010S.

Measuring 37 mm in diameter, with a vintage-inspired dial and a mono-pusher set into the winding crown, this short-interval timekeeping instrument pays homage to Angelus' storied heritage and renowned expertise in chronograph creation. Its distinguished manual wound movement, historical lineage, and exceptional finishing details endow this chronograph with a captivating retro elegance that speaks to connoisseurs of fine horology.

The Chronographe Télémètre features a classically proportioned case striking a balance between vintage appeal and slight contemporary wearability. The dial showcases the hallmark dual-scale layout that made Angelus chronographs highly sought after by collectors: with a namesake telemeter scale, originally designed to measure distances based on the speed of sound, and a chapter ring for the 60 minutes.

At the heart of the new Angelus Chronographe Télémètre beats the manual wound calibre A5000 with column-wheel chronograph architecture. This mechanism reflects Angelus's commitment to traditional watchmaking craftsmanship while incorporating modern reliability standards. The movement offers approximately 42 hours of power reserve and features meticulous finishing visible through the sapphire case back.

The Angelus Chronographe Télémètre Monopusher Chronograph is water-resistant to 30 meters and comes fitted with a high-quality calfskin leather strap with a pin buckle. The yellow gold model is equipped with a teal-colored strap, while the stainless steel models feature anthracite grey and sage green straps respectively.

This new release represents an important chapter in Angelus's contemporary revival. After being acquired by La Joux-Perret —now part of the Citizen Group—, the brand has carefully balanced respecting its historical significance while embracing innovation. The Chronographe Télémètre captures the essence of the military and aviation chronographs that built Angelus's reputation in the mid-20th century. For collectors and enthusiasts of fine mechanical watchmaking, the Angelus Chronographe Télémètre offers a compelling blend of heritage-inspired design and modern execution, continuing the legacy of one of Switzerland's most respected chronograph manufacturers.
