W&W 2025: Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum (Live Photos)

Chopard debuts its first platinum iteration in the Alpine Eagle sports watch collection, marrying the refined proportions of the ultra-thin '41 XP' case with a redesigned bracelet. The Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum ref. 295396-9001 is equipped with a case measuring 41 mm in diameter and 8 mm in thickness, the watch is crafted from this exceptionally pure metal and showcases a 'Shades of Ice' blue gradient dial, drawing inspiration from the varied blue hues reflected on frozen mountain lakes.

This remarkable watch features a central seconds display—denoted by 'CS' in its name—and bears the prestigious Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark. This dial in ‘Alpine Eagle’ fashion has a rock-like textured dial that evokes an eagle’s iris, its hands call to mind the raptor’s feathers and the cold glinting steel is reminiscent of glaciers mimics the eye of an eagle. The gradient color of the dial is extremely unique and simply amazing.

The Alpine Eagle bracelet features an elegant taper with distinctive ingot-shaped links crowned by raised central caps. A protective crown guard extends from the case, engraved with a compass rose—a historical navigation tool that symbolizes modern adventurers charting their course.

Things to Know About the Watch

Eight screws punctuate the round bezel, arranged in pairs at the cardinal points. Their slots are precisely positioned tangential to the bezel's circumference, demonstrating both technical excellence and aesthetic refinement. Beyond their visual appeal, these screws ensure the watch maintains 100-meter water resistance.

All flat surfaces throughout the Alpine Eagle receive a meticulous satin-brushed treatment that creates captivating light play, enhanced by polished chamfers for contrast. The hours and minutes hands, along with the hour markers, feature SuperLumiNova Grade X1 coating for exceptional nighttime visibility. Inspired by the natural Alpine environment that influenced Karl-Friedrich Scheufele's vision, the timepiece transforms its appearance as lighting conditions change, constantly shifting between its polished and matte finishes—much like the snow, mountain streams, and rock faces of the Alps themselves.

The Movement

Powering this watch is the ultra-thin, chronometer-certified L.U.C 96.42-L movement with a platinum micro-rotor and it is fully visible via the display case back. This 181-part movement provides a 60-hour power reserve when fully wound and is Poinçon de Genève certified.

On the Wrist & Price

On the wrist, the Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum sits with remarkable presence and top top-heavy due to the dense metal in its construction, achieving an ideal balance between substantial sportiness and refined elegance. The ingeniously designed bracelet conforms perfectly to wrist contours, with the ingot-shaped links articulating fluidly with each movement. The satin-brushed surfaces catch and play with light in subtle ways as you move, while the polished chamfers create a crisp definition that enhances the watch's dimensional quality.
