News: Richard Mille Announces New Partnership with McLaren-Honda Formula One Racing Team. No Longer Involved with Renault Sport F1 Team —Formerly Lotus F1 Team.

Richard Mille is delighted to announce a new long-term partnership with the McLaren-Honda Formula One team after dropping their partnership with Lotus. Richard Mille held a partnership with the Lotus F1 team for several years. This move from Richard Mille is either the result of Lotus changing its name to Renault Sport F1 earlier this year and deciding to partner with Bell & Ross, or perhaps just looking forward to become more involved with a stronger and more-likely-to-win team.

While the new Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz was officially released at the beginning of October of 2015, it wasn't until the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie last week, that the watch was available to the press and the rest of the world for hands-on review.  The new Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz we finally saw at the SIHH 2016, is not a quartz watch —battery operated— as the name might suggest, but quartz as in one of the components used in its case material.

As you all know, when Richard Mille launches a new watch he goes above and beyond to make sure that the new watch overdelivers in terms of design, looks, quality and craftsmanship. As we've seen it during its short history, Richard Mille is a brand that doesn't require any marketing gimmicks or celebrity endorsements to sell its watches.

Insider: Richard Mille RM 38-01 Tourbillon G-Sensor Bubba Watson. Hands-On with the 50-Piece Limited Edition Worth $825,000 USD.

After the success of the Richard Mille Limited Edition RM 038 Golfer’s Tourbillon released in 2011, Richard Mille has undertaken the development of yet another specific tourbillon watch for Bubba Watson with added functionality to complement his powerful drives on the course. Finally, after a long wait, we were able to get our hands on one of these 50-piece limited edition watches and work on a proper hands-on review with live pictures. The Richard Mille RM 38-01 Tourbillon G-Sensor Bubba Watson, is a timepiece that combines a patented G-sensor with a tourbillon mechanism, thus providing new insights for golfers during their game. The mechanical G-sensor, a Richard Mille world first containing more than 50 moving parts within a mere 17mm, allows the user to see the accumulated motion of their swing in G’s. The sensor, placed under 12 o’clock, is able to record the force generated by a golfer’s swing, specifically during the last segment.

News: Pre-SIHH 2016 Presenting the Richard Mille RM 67-01 Extra Flat. First Time Richard Mille Does an Extra Flat in a Tonneau Shaped Case.

The Richard Mille collection distinguishes itself by having created not one, but several models within a short timespan that have become recognized by collectors and insiders alike as ultimate icons of contemporary watchmaking. And one of the most popular icons must certainly be the RM 010 Automatic, whose pure lines and functions have always found resonance with clients everywhere. Never one to sit still, Richard Mille felt that the moment has arrived to present a new iteration destined to become another icon of the future: the RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat. The mechanical aspect of creating a thin automatic has its own set of particular difficulties, but one of the dual challenges is to combine this type of movement design with the creation of a sense of visual depth within the movement —a central tenet to Richard Mille’s approach.

Insider: Richard Mille RM 63-02 World Timer Automatic. Fitted with a Special Mechanism on its Bezel.

Richard Mille first unveiled the RM 58-01 Tourbillon World Timer at the SIHH 2013. Designed for frequent travelers and others alike, this timepiece made a strong impression thanks to its remarkably easy to use multi-time-zone mechanism. When designing the RM 58-01, Richard Mille’s goal was to simplify the setting of this complication as far as possible, notably by removing the pusher. Now, just a week ago, Richard Mille unveiled the RM 63-02 World Timer Automatic at the SIAR in Mexico City. After working on this hands-on review with live pictures, our first impression of the watch is that while the round shape doesn't immediately convey Richard Mille, the rest of the watch DNA does. While there are other Richard Mille timepieces out there with a round shape like the RM 028 Diver or this watch's predecessor the RM 58-01 Tourbillon, we are more used to identify Richard Mille timepieces by their tonneau-shaped cases.

News: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 030 Automatic 'Black Dash'. A 50-Piece Limited Edition Right on Time for the SIAR Mexico City 2015.

As the SIAR 2015 kicks-off in Mexico City today, we are pleased to announce the new Richard Mille RM 030 Automatic 'Black Dash'. We will bring you live pictures later today. The newest version of Richard Mille’s RM 030 Automatic with Declutchable Rotor, cloaked in black with scarlet red details, debuts as the dark and dramatic sibling to previous editions of the popular tonneau-shaped timepiece. Like a carbon negative to this year’s White Rush limited edition, the Black Dash incorporates boundary-pushing new materials and a hand-finished innovative movement to achieve a new level of style and performance in haute horlogerie. Black TZP sand-blasted ceramic forms the front and back bezels of the RM 030 Black Dash, while its caseband is comprised of incredibly strong and light black NTPT carbon. The watch’s crown and rubber strap are also black, while the combination of red and white for its Arabic numerals, hands, indicators and inner flange produce a high degree of legibility.

News: Introducing the New Richard Mille RM 011 RED TPT Quartz. The New Little Red Devil on the Block in a 50-piece Limited Edition.

Continuing with the recent launches of new watches from Richard Mille, may we present you the new Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz, and when we say quartz we are not talking about a battery operated watch but the quartz used in the case material. Coupled with its RM 011 automatic flyback chronograph caliber, Richard Mille presents the latest incarnation of its TPT quartz case dressed in vibrant red. A unique color in fine watchmaking, it redefines the graphic limitations of this material. Since it was unveiled two years ago, Richard Mille’s NTPT carbon has enabled the Jura-based brand to produce cases and components with exceptional mechanical performances. Originally developed for the manufacture of racing boat sails, this material finds applications in Formula 1 chassis construction, aeronautic and now watchmaking, since it has rapidly become the brand’s trademark composite material.

News: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 26-02 Tourbillon Evil Eye. A $575,000 USD Watch in a 25-Piece Limited Edition.

The concept of the Evil Eye, also known as Ayin Harsha in Arabic, Mauvais OEil in French, Dhristi in Hindu and Ayin Ha’ra in Hebrew, is recorded in every culture from early history. This universal symbol of foreboding summons suffering and misfortune to whoever is exposed to its power. The Evil Eye knows no bounds except those imposed on it by various protective talismans, such as the Eye of Horus amulet, the Jewish red string or the Irish four leaf clover, to name just a few. Today, a new talisman to protect against these negative energies in the 21st century has been developed by a visionary of contemporary watchmaking. Nonconformist by nature, Richard Mille seized on this imagery as inspiration for the new Richard Mille RM 26-02 Tourbillon Evil Eye just unveiled at Watches & Wonder 2015 in Hong Kong. In the same way as he did when creating the earlier RM 052 skull timepiece —recalling the spirit of Memento Mori— with its remembrance of our personal mortality, both of these technical masterpieces, born in the Swiss Jura, go far beyond the norm to bring timekeeping to inspirational and intriguing levels of expression.

News: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 011 Flyback Chronograph 'Midnight Fire'. 88-Piece Limited Edition for the Americas.

Introducing the new Richard Mille RM 011 Flyback Chronograph 'Midnight Fire'. This new watch is available in a 88-piece limited edition exclusively available in the Americas. Fire glows brightest in the darkest of night. Richard Mille’s new limited edition version of the RM 011 Automatic Flyback Chronograph, “Midnight Fire,” employs high-tech materials to capture the deepest black of the night’s darkest hour, and ignites it with fiery red details. Black TZP ceramic is extremely resistant to scratches while not being brittle. For the RM 011 Midnight Fire, the material is blasted to provide a matte finish, then formed into the front and back bezels of the timepiece’s tripartite case. The center caseband of the Midnight Fire is crafted from NTPT —North Thin Ply Technology — carbon. Already used in the fields of aerospace technology, the manufacture of racing sales, and Formula 1 racecar design, NTPT carbon is incredibly strong and light, and composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibers.

News: Richard Mille Donates the Rafael Nadal RM 27-01 Tourbillon Prototype to ONLY Watch Auction.

For the 6th edition of the ONLY Watch auction, Richard Mille and Rafael Nadal are partnering up once again to donate the RM 27-02 tourbillon prototype for the auction taking place in Geneva on November 7th, 2015. This unique piece has accompanied “Rafa” to all the biggest Grand Slam tournaments, from the French and U.S. Opens all the way to Wimbledon. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to research against Duchenne muscular dystrophy. With the Rafael Nadal RM 27-02 tourbillon prototype, the Swiss brand unveiled the very first skeletonized baseplate to be known as “unibody”. Inspired by the bodywork of racecars and machined from NTPT carbon, this construction increases rigidity and shock-resistance, and seamlessly fuses the case middle and the baseplate, eliminating the need to join the two components together.

News: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic Tourbillon. The Classiest and Most Tasteful Erotic Timepiece Out There.

Today, we present you the new Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic Tourbillon. Its name is a clear affirmation of the creative longing to reveal our most secret intentions in all their glory. Playfully and tastefully interpreted, this fine watchmaking creation will delight and amuse its owners, teasingly displaying phrases that evoke desired pleasure without being as graphic as other erotic timepieces out there like the Ulysse Nardin Hourstriker Erotica Jarretière we featured here. Erotic timepieces are an important part of watchmaking history since Jaquet Droz was around. Because they broke with conservative moral, religious and political customs, these objects were often banned and confiscated. But like all forbidden love, their pleasure was enjoyed away from prying eyes. Thus by concealing the complications at the heart of watches in question, certain models have survived to this day.

Insider: Richard Mille RM055 Bubba Watson Americas Limited Edition White Drive. Only 30 Pieces Available.

Nothing beats doing hands-on reviews on Richard Mille timepieces. There's something about holding a Richard Mille watch and feeling that special vibe from it. This time, we bring you our hands-on review of this amazing timepiece with live images and the mandatory wristshots. The Richard Mille RM055 White Drive —exclusively available in North and South America— comes fitted with a fully black rubberized grade-5 titanium case, a black ceramic bezel and a very distinctive white flange. As a side note, all of the previous watches created with Bubba Watson feature stark white cases, bezels and straps. This watch, just like the Rafael Nadal RM27-01 lacks of a dial and the time can be easily read with its skeletonized hands with white tips and seconds hand with red tip — a very delicate and well-thought element that adds the right amount of contrast without being distracting.

Experience: Porsche 991 Carrera S in the Company of a Richard Mille RM015 Le Mans Classic in Red Gold.

Here's one of the most fascinating watch-car combos we've featured in a while —a Richard Mille RM015 Le Mans Classic in red gold in the company of a gorgeous Porsche 991 Carrera S with Carrera Red interiors.

'991' is the internal designation —also the number used by serious Porsche enthusiasts— for the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show as the replacement for the '997'.

This silver 'beast' is fitted with a horizontally opposed six-cylinder 3.8 liter rear engine that delivers 400 hp that can go from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. A 'beast' of a car in all senses of the word.

This particular car in GT Silver Metallic color comes with 20-inch Carrera S wheels, a Carrera Red leather interior, a PDK transmission and the sport chrono package. The interior is really gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. It is a joy to drive this beauty every day.

The Porsche '991' comes with some major improvements when compared to the previous generation '997'. There's a clear enhancement on the quality of the equipment and the overall look of the interior which happens to be roomier than the one in the '997'. While the rear passenger/luggage space is also less tight in the new model, it still really can't fit anyone taller than five feet —only a perfect fit for Santa Claus' elves. Overall, the most visible improvement is the level of refinement and how posh the interior now looks.

While the '991' is not that much faster than its predecessor, it feels faster as it is lighter. Another great improvement is that the level of noise coming into the cabin from the rear tires has been reduced and now the interior sound level is perfect. Additionally, the '991' comes with a standard sport exhaust button that is linked to an acoustic tuner which brings the characteristic flat-six exhaust note into the rear of the cabin.

If you are ready to pay a Sticker Price of $126,440 USD for a Porsche just like the one we have here, make sure you wear that Richard Mille that's been sitting in the safe for months on the day you go pick it up at the dealership.

News: Richard Mille Presents Two New Felipe Massa Limited Editions for the 10th Anniversary of Their Partnership. The RM056 Sapphire Tourbillon Chronograph and the RM011 10th Anniversary.

Felipe Massa has now achieved 40 podiums in his career by finishing third at the Austrian GP this weekend. "It’s an incredible moment for me, but the whole team is feeling this too. The team has a great history and we continue to build on that. It’s a special day" said Felipe Massa. After 8 Grand Prix this year, Felipe is now sixth in the World Driver’s Championship with a total of 62 points. Brazilian Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa is the first sporting figure to have joined the Richard Mille family. A long-time test driver for Richard Mille watches, it was he who enabled the brand to initiate and accomplish astonishing feats in watchmaking development. Such triumphs included the manufacture of a carbon nanofiber baseplate, first tested with the RM 006 FM then used in a number of other models, as well as the processing of new materials such the Alusic cases on the RM 009 FM.
