Introducing: Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Le Regulateur Tourbillon Black. A 78-Piece Limited Edition.

Le Régulateur Tourbillon Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Black in a limited edition of 78 pieces unveils a new collaboration between the watch brand and the designer, who have been working together since 2019. The tourbillon, the pinnacle of the art of watchmaking, the pinnacle of Alain Silberstein's thinking, has never before been offered as a single piece but only in a triptych. Neither on a black background, that color which is not one, but on which all the others are revealed.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a special evening with Carl Suchy & Söhne to present their collection —especially the incredibly sporty Belvedere watch— to a select group of watch collectors in Dallas, Texas. Our gathering at Lyla —one of Dallas’ hottest spots located in the heart of uptown— turned into a charming evening, savoring Rioja red wine alongside an exquisite spread of Mediterranean dishes.

News: Chanel to Open First US Watches & Fine Jewelry Flagship in New York on February 9th, 2024

On February 9th, 2024, Chanel will open a singular on New York City’s iconic Fifth Avenue. Designed by long-standing Chanel collaborator New-York based architect, Peter Marino, the two-story boutique will be the first standalone store in the United States dedicated entirely to Chanel Watches and Fine Jewelry.

Carl Suchy & Söhne was founded in 1822 by Austrian watchmaker Carl Suchy and quickly became the most important watchmaking company of the Habsburg Monarchy. In 2017, the brand was revived, and combining Viennese elegance with high Swiss watchmaking skills, the brand now produces its watches in Switzerland. The Belvedere Danube is a perfect story teller of this brand.

From the Editor: My Thoughts on the Akrivia X Louis Vuitton Collaboration

Akrivia and Rexhep have somewhat of a cult following and it’s not until you get to peruse one of his watches in the metal that you come to realize the great and the not-so-great things about the brand and their watches. Today, as we published the news about the Akrivia X Louis Vuitton LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie, I had to go back to my notes when I dissected the Akrivia AK-06.

Louis Vuitton and Rexhep Rexhepi from Akrivia launch the LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie. Following the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives announced in early 2023, Louis Vuitton is embarking on a series of collaborative timepieces with renowned independent watchmakers, with the inaugural project being the LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie born from the collaboration between Atelier Akrivia and Louis Vuitton.

Introducing: Biver 'La Danse Du Temps' Unique Piece. Celebrating Mexico's Day of the Dead.

As a tribute to tradition, culture, and the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, Pierre and Jean-Claude Biver have decided to create in collaboration with Joel Niño —a Mexican artist—, a unique timepiece for the Salón Internacional de Alta Relojería —SIAR— to be held in Mexico City from October 17th to the 19th, 2023. This unique piece is called La Danse du Temps —The Dance of Time— and it comes seven months after the release of the first piece from this new brand launched by watch industry maven and veteran Jean-Claude Biver and his son Pierre.

From the Editor: Atelier Holgur Frømand. Dissecting the Latest Redefined Diving Watch.

Almost two months ago, Atelier Holgur —a new brand founded by Matthew de Bakker and Asbjørn Simonen-Andersen— presented the Frømand. Since I liked the look of the watch from the press pictures, I decided to ask for a prototype and do a proper review of it. The Frømand is a watch that tries to redefine the diving watch genre by adding certain ‘haute horlogerie’ features seldom found on diving watches.
