As I was going through my Instagram this morning, I found a repost from KAWS of an image posted by Yoon Ahn the founder of fashion brand Ambush Design Company. The picture shows what appears to be a special Royal Oak Extra-Thin ‘Jumbo’ ref. 16202BA or 16202OR in collaboration with KAWS.
If I had any respect left for Audemars Piguet, now it is gone.
The Royal Oak Extra-Thin ref. 15202 and 16202 which had remained faithful to the original Royal Oak ‘Jumbo’ reference 5402 should’ve never been messed with. Not only the Royal Oak ref. 5402 saved Audemars Piguet from bankruptcy but it’s one of the most iconic watches ever designed by Charles Gérald Genta.
I guess, I have now seen it all. We’re done here.
