Ressence, the Belgian watch company that keeps challenging the status quo of mechanical watchmaking, in close collaboration with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the UAE’s leading retailer of luxury watches and jewelry, is excited to announce the release of the Type 1 DXB —a limited edition of the Type 1 Squared. The new Ressence in collaboration with Seddiqi is limited to 19 pieces and draws inspiration from Arabic geometric patterns, believed to unveil the underlying reality to the viewer. This traditional design composes with natural light and creates a unique shadow play. It is an Arabic take on skeleton dials.
The watch remains 100 percent faithful to the functions and movement of its parent, the Type 1 Squared. It differs distinctly from the collection both in its design and in its material though. Unlike the other Type 1 Squared the case is not made of stainless steel. Its 41 mm case is made of polished Grade 5 titanium, with a satin finish back. The Ressence Orbital Convex System, a unique in-house and patented module features ever-changing discs that continually orbit around one another and this time they come with a different surface treatment. The nine components that make up the solid german silver dial are finished in sand color PVD —physical vapor deposition. The hands and indexes are white and filled with Superluminova punctuating a decidedly traditional but fresh look. Ressence's ‘less is more’ philosophy, which enables it to produce state-of-the-art revolutionary watches pushed to the limit.
The Type 1DXB is manually set via a lever on its case back. The watch has no crown, the winding and setting mechanism being the case-back itself, for better ergonomics and allowing a left-right fit. Beyond a refined and authentic design, the origin of the Type 1DXB is that of a successful partnership between Ressence and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. It celebrates Dubai Watch Week 2019. Powered by the automatic calibre 2892, this 40-jewel movement provides a power reserve of 36 hours when fully wound.

The Type 1 DXB is a testament to this pursuit and a result of creating a 21st-century product that mixes authenticity and tradition. The watch indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and weekdays. The watch is delivered on a calf strap with pin buckle and exclusively available in a limited edition of 19 pieces.
