Rainbow-set watches have turned into a thing for a couple of years now. The new Big Bang Unico Rainbow King Gold is Hublot’s approach for what has turned into a very desirable type of wristwatch lately. First it was Rolex, then Audemars Piguet and now Hublot. The Big Bang Rainbow unlike the other brand’s predecessors, has gone above and beyond into integrating the rainbow setting even into different parts of the dial. Embellishing a timepiece by adding gems has always been around but never to this extent. Set with no less than 436 colored stones, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Rainbow King Gold includes rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, blue topazes, tsavorites, yellow sapphires and even orange sapphires.
It’s 45 mm case in 18K King Gold is set with a total of 176 colored gemstones, its bezel with 48 baguette-cut gemstones and its skeletonized dial with 212. The gem-setting on this watch is simply remarkable and to make the color palette of the watch a true rainbow, the alligator strap has been created with a multicolor gradient effect matching all the gemstones on the watch. Powering the new Big Bang Unico Rainbow King Gold is the Hublot in-house chronograph movement HUB1242 UNICO. This automatic movement features a flyback chronograph with column wheel mechanism and provides a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound.
Because there’s always a pot of gold under the rainbow, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Rainbow King Gold ticks all the boxes if you are looking for a colored gemstone-set timepiece with an in-house movement and as flashy as it gets. Great looking timepiece for that leprechaun inside you that is always looking to protect that pot of gold under the rainbow, or better off to keep it on its wrist.
