Introducing: Girard-Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Titanium and Gold

Girard-Perregaux is pleased to announce the launch of their new Casquette 2.0 Titanium and Gold, a bold evolution of the iconic 1976 design. In its constant pursuit for innovation and precision, in 1971, Girard-Perregaux was the first Manufacture to serially produce a quartz watch. LED dials emerged only a couple of years later, and once again GP was at the forefront of the technology with the release of the original Casquette, which featured not only an LED time display but also an unexpected design for the Maison.

The Casquette 2.0, a revival of the collectors’ favorite from the 70s, was first released in black ceramic and titanium. Housed in a black ceramic and titanium case, featuring titanium pushers, the model bore a strong resemblance to the Macrolon-clad original, the undisputed icon of the 70s.

Now, the Maison is pleased to unveil a cool new iteration of the Casquette 2.0 in titanium featuring an 18K 2N yellow gold GP logo and matching pushers. Recognizing the unwavering support of its community, ‘GP owners’ will have preferential access to this latest model, once again a limited edition. Girard-Perregaux continues to showcase its mastery in shaping the future of design in watchmaking while delivering joy to collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This latest model is presented in a Grade 5 titanium case measuring 42.40 x 33.60 x 14.64 mm and features 18K 2N yellow gold GP logo and pushers, a nod to its gold plated and steel forbears of the 70s. Reborn in 2024, this latest iteration of the Casquette 2.0 comes supplied on a matching Grade 5 titanium bracelet with a rubber lining, conferring exceptional wearer comfort. The titanium buckle is equipped with a micro-adjustment, allowing the wearer to fine tune the sizing of the bracelet to ensure a perfect fit. This latest reference will be the ultimate limited edition with a production run of 820 pieces and, as everyone knows ‘all good things must come to an end’.

The new Casquette 2.0 is equipped with the Calibre GP03980. Featuring a titanium case with 18K yellow gold accents, it celebrates the original industry favorite, which was revived in 2022 at the behest of fans worldwide. It honors the brand's inventive spirit and dedication to creating joy for collectors and blends futuristic aesthetics with heritage, drawing inspiration from its 70s sci-fi roots and the Maison's legacy of cutting-edge design. The case-back in titanium is secured by 4 screws and water resistance to 50 meters.

The Girard-Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Titanium and Gold reference GP3980-1474 is powered by the Quartz movement keeping time at a frequency of 32,768 Hz and composed of 45 parts and no jewels. The watch keeps track of the hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, month, year, chronograph, 2nd time zone, and secret date.

Recognizing the unwavering support of its collecting community, and in recognition of this support and friendship, Girard-Perregaux will give priority to ‘GP lovers’ with an exclusive drop-in preview, inviting them to order this latest Casquette 2.0 from October 31st to November 14th.
