First presented at the SIAR 2019 just a week before the Mexican F1 Grand Prix comes the Franck Muller Vanguard ‘La Mejor Carrera del Mundo’ —the best race in the world— Limited Edtion. Available in carbon or in rose gold, the watch celebrates the world of motor racing with the colors of the Mexican flag. While the carbon model is available in a limited edition of 75 pieces, the rose gold model comes in a 25-piece limited edition. Both watches feature the colors of the Mexican flag between 11 and 1 o’clock.
Things to Know About Watch
Equipped with a Vanguard Racing case in carbon measuring 44 mm with the iconic Franck Muller tonneau shape, the Vanguard 'La Mejor Carrera del Mundo' Carbon features a very unique look almost resembling wood grain. Without a doubt, one of the nicest forged carbon cases out there. Fitted with a skeletonized dial with Vanguard indexes and a sapphire crystal center with seconds numerals in white and red, the Vanguard 'La Mejor Carrera del Mundo' is very motorsports looking.
The watch also features a red flange along with a red aluminum middle case insert that also serves as the crown guards. The colors of the Mexican flag are prominently displayed throughout the ‘Chemin de fer’ minute track and at the very top with the 11 o’clock marker in green, the 12 numeral in white and the 1 o’clock marker in red. The date aperture at 6 o’clock is relatively discreet and framed in red.
Lastly, the Franck Muller Vanguard 'La Mejor Carrera del Mundo' Carbon is delivered on a black alcantara strap with red contrast stitching and rubberized interior and secured by a deployant folding clasp in titanium.

The Franck Muller Vanguard 'La Mejor Carrera del Mundo' is powered by the automatic calibre FM2800SQ01 with a power reserve of 42 hours and which is fully visible via the display case back adorned with the ‘Mario Achi’ design and the ‘La Mejor Carrera del Mundo’ wording.

On the wrist, the Franck Muller Vanguard 'La Mejor Carrera del Mundo’ wears slightly bigger than its actual size and remarkably well. Very Richard Mille looking —or perhaps we should say Richard Mille are very Franck Muller looking as the latter came first— the essence of the Vanguard collection is inspired by the maritime and yachting world, but the Vanguard Racing line offers a motoring look that is flawlessly capitalized by this new Mexico exclusive limited edition. While the price difference between the rose gold model and the carbon model is not that big, the carbon model is the way to go with this particular piece.
