First introduced in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection represents Chopard's commitment to technological advancement in watchmaking. The third edition of their high-frequency timepiece the 8HF series achieves a remarkable milestone as the lightest watch ever produced by Chopard. This exceptional lightness is accomplished through the use of ceramicized titanium for the 41 mm case, crown, dial, and movement.
The new Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF model ref. 298600-3028 is limited to just 250 pieces and features a sporty bead-blasted finish and a distinctive pitch-black titanium dial with subtle orange accents that create striking visual contrasts. But what makes the Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8 HF most unique is its movement beating at double the rate of the standard Alpine Eagle which beats at 4 Hz or 28,800 vph. The beating rate of the Cadence 8 HF is 8 Hz or 57,600 vph.
The rock-like texture dial features a Roman numeral at 12 o’clock instead of four at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the regular Alpine Eagle. Lastly, the dial features a small orange lighting bolt imprint above 6 o’clock conveying the nature of its high-frequency escapement.
Turning the watch over reveals the automatic Chopard calibre 01.14-C, a COSC chronometer composed of 210 parts and 28 jewels. This movement provides a power reserve of 60 hours when fully wound. The titanium movement features a special oscillating weight with orange lettering.
On the wrist, the Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8 HF wears true to its size and offers a remarkably distinctive wearing experience, primarily defined by its exceptional lightness and its comfortable black rubber strap. As Chopard's lightest timepiece ever created, the ceramicized titanium construction results in a watch that practically disappears on the wrist despite its substantial 41 mm diameter. This remarkable lightness, however, doesn't compromise the watch's premium feel. The bead-blasted finish of the case creates a sophisticated matte appearance that catches light in subtle, understated ways.
