W&W 2025: A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus Honey Gold (Live Photos)

The new A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in Honey Gold joins its siblings in stainless steel, white gold, and titanium, cloaked in the unique Lange Honey Gold alloy. Honey Gold is A. Lange & Söhne's proprietary gold alloy. Its unique amber-like hue catches light differently than traditional yellow or rose gold, creating a sophisticated visual signature that's more subtle than typical gold watches. It embodies the vision of a meticulously handcrafted watch that is robust and water-resistant enough for leisure and athletic pursuits. The prominent tapered buttons allow convenient adjustment of the significantly large day and date display.

This limited edition of 100 pieces showcases an exclusive brown dial with distinctive texturing that pairs perfectly with the warm tones of the Honey Gold case. The watch is quite heavy with a total weight of 246 grams—relatively similar to a Rolex GMT-Master II Everose; however, its 40.5 mm case diameter and 11.1 mm thickness ensure exceptional wearability. The case features a combination of polished, matte, and brushed finishes. Like its stainless steel, titanium, and 18K white gold counterparts, the Honey Gold Odysseus boasts a water-resistant case with a screw-down crown, tested to withstand pressure at 120 meters.

The Honey Gold edition features a multi-part dial consistent with other Odysseus models. Beyond its distinctive brown hue, it presents a unique surface structure, most notably in the hour ring decoration. Fine guilloched grooves extend in subtle arcs toward the hour markers, creating an embedded appearance that enhances the three-dimensional effect while serving as an exclusive signature. This motif reappears in circular lines on the subsidiary seconds dial scale.

The irregularly textured surfaces of the central and subsidiary dials contrast with these uniform patterns. A Honey Gold flange ring with minute scale creates a shadow gap, adding clarity to the dial. Among the black Arabic five-minute numerals, the red-printed 60 provides a distinctive color accent. The sporty character is emphasized by prominent lance-shaped hour and minute hands—a Lange hallmark. These hands, like the notched baton appliques, are crafted from polished white gold and filled with luminous compound.

A. Lange & Söhne developed a matching bracelet for this Honey Gold timepiece that harmonizes perfectly with the case.

Turning the watch over reveals a display case back on the Odysseus Honey Gold Limited Edition, which houses the 312-part calibre L155.1 Datomatic movement, evident through the display case back. The name "Datomatic" combines "date" and "automatic."

A skeletonized, partially black-rhodiumed central rotor with 950 platinum centrifugal mass provides abundant winding power, delivering a 50-hour power reserve when fully wound. The movement features a manually engraved stylized wave pattern, referencing the watch's water resistance.

The A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus Honey Gold Limited Edition is available exclusively through A. Lange & Söhne boutiques worldwide in a highly limited series of only 100 pieces. The A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in Honey Gold offers a distinctive wearing experience that sets it apart from the titanium, stainless steel, and white gold versions.

On the wrist, the Honey Gold case is noticeable due to the material's higher density than titanium or steel and far apart from the white gold model, as the Honey Gold Odysseus comes with a matching Honey Gold bracelet and not a rubber strap like the white gold model, yet it remains comfortable.

The integrated bracelet is masterfully engineered to drape naturally around the wrist, with its articulated links providing exceptional flexibility. The case profile, at 11.1 mm thick, allows the watch to slip easily under a cuff while maintaining the robust character expected of a sports-luxury timepiece.
