Continuing with our coverage of the SIHH 2017, we now bring you the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronographs that were released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Royal Oak Chronograph. For its third facelift since its launch in 1997, the reference number has changed 26320 to 26331. For these new Royal Oak Chronographs, Audemars Piguet has decided to enlarge the hour and minute chrono registers at 9 and 3 o'clock, reduce the size of the running seconds subdial at 6 o'clock, shorten and widen the hour-markers while adding more lume to them and update the typeface and transfers on the chronograph totalizers.
SIHH 2017: Christophe Claret Maestro. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
Following a clear and consistent product design strategy, Christophe Claret unveiled the new Maestro at the SIHH 2017. With a name that takes its inspiration by the excellence of the master watchmaker, Christophe Claret himself, this watch with a perfectly domed crystal provides a striking, almost dizzying view of the movement architecture and the famous Charles X bridges. Equipped with a manual wound 7-day power reserve movement, a cone-shaped large date display and a 3D reminder function —MEMO function as Christophe Claret calls it—, the new Maestro is the first Haute Complication watch by Christophe Claret at a more affordable price when considering what haute horlogerie timepieces are going for these days.
SIHH 2017: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph with Sector Two-Tone Dial. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
One of the most interesting and surprising novelties presented at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève SIHH 2017 were the three new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control models with sector two-tone dials. The introduction of these three new watches was a last-minute decision by the brand, but one that unequivocally was the right way to go. In addition to their sector two-tone dials, the watches come with a price point that will be hard to beat by other brands. As we've said it before, JLC gives you a ton of watch for the money.

SIHH 2017: New MB&F Horological Machine No. 7 HM7 Aquapod. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
The new MB&F Horological Machine No. 7 HM7 Aquapod is by far the craziest and coolest MB&F released to date. Inspired by a jellyfish and the ocean, the watch is unlike anything else they have ever released. After pushing the boundaries of horological exploration by blasting into outer space with watches like the HM2, HM3 and the HM6; launching into the sky with the HM4 and powering down the road and around the track with the HM5, HMX and recently with the HM8 Can Am, MB&F now decides to conquer the confines of the ocean and plunges into the water with the new SIHH 2017 Horological Machine No.7 'Aquapod'.
SIHH 2017: New A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Moon Phase with Day/Night Indicator. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Moon Phase just got much better, now offering a clever day/night indicator built directly on the way the moon phase is displayed. If you're already wondering what we mean by this, simply look at the color of the sky that serves as the backdrop for the moon disc without any starts and in a different shade of blue. Well, thanks to the new manual wound calibre L121.3, the highly polished moon on the moon phase disc always orbits against a realistic backdrop —a bright blue sky by day and a dark blue starry sky at night.

SIHH 2017: Officine Panerai Radiomir 3 Days Acciaio 'Brevettato' PAM 685 and PAM 687. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
Finally, we got to see in the metal at the SIHH 2017, two new watches from Panerai we just couldn't wait to see in person. But first, just a little history before we go into the details on these two watches. In the late 1930s, Panerai made a number of Radiomir watches with a special 12-sided bezel, engraved with the words “OFFICINE PANERAI – BREVETTATO”. This inscription 'Brevettato' —which means Patented— referred to the patented luminous substance Radiomir used on the dial and it suggests that the watches were used not for military operations but for presenting to the authorities of the Royal Italian Navy, which was evaluating new instruments for underwater missions.

SIHH 2017: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver ref. 15710ST. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
Following the success of the 2016 launch of the Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph in a range of fizzing bright and vibrant dial colours, Audemars Piguet now introduces the non-chronograph model in similarly exciting hues. These five funky colors are definitely great on the regular AP Diver and much better than on the AP ROO Diver Chronograph. Not much else to say, watch is still 42 mm and powered by the same in-house Audemars Piguet calibre 3120. Also fitted with a display case back like on the latest AP Divers.

However, in 1977 the first 18K yellow gold 39 mm Royal Oak was launched, bringing a whole new character to what would soon be regarded as an iconic design.
