The 127-piece limited-edition Traditionnelle Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar ref. 6300T/000P-H056 in Platinum celebrates 270 years of Vacheron Constantin's watchmaking creativity. This exceptional timepiece pairs the complexity of a new calibre with the refined elegance of a hand-guilloché dial, all housed in a 42 mm platinum case only 11.1 mm thick.
The classic aesthetic features a signature motif on the dial that distinguishes the limited editions commemorating Vacheron Constantin's 270th anniversary. Inspired by the Maltese cross—the Maison's emblem since 1880—this hand-guilloche pattern symbolizes the perpetual quest for precision and excellence. It adds a contemporary touch while creating eye-catching light effects with every movement of the wearer's wrist.
The model's slim case—11.1 mm thick—is made possible by the Manufacture's new Calibre 2162 QP/270, measuring just 6.55 mm thick and based on the existing Calibre 2160. This new automatic calibre integrates two challenging Haute Horlogerie complications including a tourbillon regulator that compensates for gravity's effects on balance-spring isochronism and a perpetual calendar displaying the day, date, month, and leap year, requiring no manual adjustment before 2100. The 18K gold hand-guilloché silver-toned dial adorned with 270th-anniversary pattern inspired by the Maltese cross features a small seconds indicator on the tourbillon carriage. Month indicator at 12 o’clock, day of the week at 9 and date at 3 o’clock.
Powering this watch is the manufacture's new Calibre 2162 QP/270. Composed of 324 parts, the movement provides a power reserve of 72 hours. The sapphire case backs reveal the ‘côte unique’ finish on the bridges of each calibre made for this anniversary. As a final touch, each movement is engraved with an emblem representing Vacheron Constantin’s 270th anniversary.
Incorporating an ultra-thin tourbillon in a movement requires a careful balance of dimensions, inertia, and torque—a major technical achievement. The Calibre 2162 QP beats at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz), a relatively slow tempo typically found in historic pocket watches, providing ample opportunity to appreciate the tourbillon's mechanical choreography.
The Traditionnelle Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar 270th Anniversary is delivered on a dark blue alligator strap with a pin buckle. This watch embodies the stylistic codes that define the collection with its classic style, stepped and fluted case, Dauphine hands, and railway minute track, it represents the legacy of 18th-century Genevan Haute Horlogerie.
