This Saturday, December 11, 2021, two African American men stole watches worth $1.5 million USD in a smash and grab from B. Young & Co. at Chicago’s Bentley Gold Coast. This car dealership is home to the watch and jewelry boutique as well as a luxury automobile dealer for Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and Rolls-Royce. Located on Rush Street in the heart of Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast area, the dealership is just steps away from Michigan Avenue —the Magnificent Mile— and is a ‘must’ destination for watches and fancy cars.
B. Young & Co. was established by Matthew Burdeen and John Young combining decades of experience and specializing in pre-owned inventory from Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, and Rolex, amongst others. The boutique also sells very high-end jewelry in addition to being an authorized dealer for Ulysse Nardin and B.R.M. Watches.

Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Grand Seiko, Ulysse Nardin, Omega, Panerai, Breitling, and Chopard. Burdeen’s Jewelry operates one location in Buffalo Grove, IL —a northwest suburb of Chicago— and another one on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile at 909 N Michigan Avenue.

In what seemed to be a premeditated and well planned robbery, two African American males wearing hoodies walked into the car dealership and smashed the glass cases to access the watches and steal them. In an attempt to stop the robbery, the video shared by B. Young & Co. shows staff inside Bentley Gold Coast drawing their guns and pointing them at the thieves without successfully stopping them as they ran away with $1.5 million USD in watches.
