From the Editor: $1.8 Million USD in Watches Stolen from Watch Collector in New Zealand

A total of 70 watches worth over $1.8 Million USD were stolen in New Zealand two weeks ago from a watch collector’s home that goes by the Instagram handle @Horolson. This fine collector had been collecting watches for almost ten years and is a big fan of independent watchmakers, and a seasoned collector that owned at one point more than 100 watches ranging all the way from Patek Philippe Grand Complications to Jaeger-LeCoultre, Roger Dubuis, and everything in between.

Breaking News: Two Men Steal 1.5 Million USD in Watches from B. Young & Co. at Chicago's Bentley Gold Coast

This Saturday, December 11, 2021, two African American men stole watches worth $1.5 million USD in a smash and grab from B. Young & Co. at Chicago’s Bentley Gold Coast. This car dealership is home to the watch and jewelry boutique as well as a luxury automobile dealer for Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and Rolls-Royce. Located on Rush Street in the heart of Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast area, the dealership is just steps away from Michigan Avenue —the Magnificent Mile— and is a ‘must’ destination for watches and fancy cars.

From the Editor: My Seven Stolen Watches and the Worst Night of My Life

I’ve been very hermetic about what happened to me the night of September 27, 2019; however, with watch theft on the rise around the globe, I’ve decided to finally share with all of you what happened to me and how I was stripped off of seven watches in my collection in what I like to call the worst night of my life. Some of you probably heard about it through Instagram as I shared pictures of the stolen watches with their serial numbers back then. However, the vast majority of you our readers have not heard about this violent crime.
