What used to be called the Piaget Polo S goes now by the name of Piaget Polo Date. Blending in some subtle vibes from the Patek Philippe Aquanaut and original design cues of the Polo collection, the Piaget Polo Date with black dial is one of those perfect watches for everyday wear. Endowed with a 42 mm stainless steel case, the Piaget Polo Date features an interchangeable rubber strap that could be swapped for a stainless steel bracelet. Things to Know About the Watch
Equipped with a beautifully finished black dial that is a true chameleon in all the senses of the word, the dial on the Piaget Polo Date varies in hues going all the way from somewhat of a charcoal grey to an absolute black. A black and stainless steel contrast to highlight the unique shape-in-shape with an eye-catching seconds hand with a daring red tip and a "P" counterweight.
Featuring a date aperture at 6 o’clock and applied markers, the watch is delivered on a beautiful textured black rubber strap equipped with a deployant clasp with an apparent pin buckle to make the watch slightly dressier. To live at the rhythm of people on the go, Piaget Polo Date comes with a 100-meter water resistance.
The Movement
The watch is powered by the in-house automatic calibre 1110P based on the ultra-reliable in-house calibre 800P. This movement only 4 mm thick, is equipped with 25 jewels and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph —4 Hz— to provide a power reserve of 50 hours.
The movement is fully visible via the screwed-in display case back that by the way, is very nicely finished. The movement features a slate gray oscillating weight decorated with circular Côtes de Genève and stamped with the Piaget manufacture coat-of-arms.
On the Wrist & Price
On the wrist, the Piaget Polo Date Black dial wears true to its actual size and with incredible wrist presence. A watch that looks perfect on its rubber strap and that wears extremely comfortably. As far as the pricepoint you are getting a lot of watch for the money.
