Following the release of the Black Bay Chrono 'Pink' in 2024 after Tudor became the Official Timekeeper of the Inter Miami CF, Tudor now presents the Black Bay Chrono ‘Flamingo Blue’, a bold timepiece that radiates the vibrant spirit of South Beach, bringing another tropical burst of color into the collection.
With its new ‘Flamingo Blue’ dial —even though flamingos are not blue—, the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono brings a splash of South Beach’s vibrant energy with its hue of blue. Equipped with a column-wheel chronograph movement and a vertical clutch mechanism, the model features a five-link bracelet with a T-Fit clasp for quick adjustments. The Black Bay Chrono ‘Flamingo Blue’ encapsulates a color that brings to mind the stunning turquoise waters that flamingos are often associated with.
Since the launch of Tudor's first chronograph, the Oysterdate, in 1970, the brand has been creating watches that are closely tied to the world of motorsport, while continuing to refine its professional divers’ watches. The Black Bay Chrono model blends these two traditions perfectly, delivering a high-performance chronograph with contrasting sub-counters, a 70-hour power reserve, and a vertical clutch mechanism.
Equipped with a 41 mm satin-brushed and polished 316L stainless steel case and a fixed bezel in 316L stainless steel with a black anodized aluminum insert and tachymetric scale, the domed ‘Flamingo Blue’ dial offers the perfect amount of contrast against the black circular sub-counters. Fitted with ‘Snowflake’ hands with Grade A Swiss SuperLumiNova for superior legibility, the Black Bay Chrono stays true to the Black Bay aesthetic with its iconic hands, first introduced by the brand in 1969 for its divers' watches. Inspired by the first generation of Tudor chronographs, the dial layout includes a 45-minute counter and a date aperture positioned at 6 o'clock.
The Tudor Black Bay Chrono 'Flamingo Blue' is mounted on a five-link stainless steel bracelet featuring Tudor’s T-Fit rapid adjustment clasp. This tool-free clasp offers five different positions for quick and easy fine adjustments—up to an 8 mm range. The clasp also uses ceramic ball bearings for a smooth, secure closure and a pleasing tactile feel.
The Black Bay Chrono is powered by Tudor’s Manufacture Chronograph Calibre MT5813, which features hour, minute, second, chronograph, and date functions. The movement is beautifully finished, with an openwork tungsten monobloc rotor, satin-brushed surfaces, and laser-etched decorations. With a 70-hour power reserve and silicon balance spring, the movement exceeds COSC certification standards, offering exceptional precision. Its column-wheel construction and vertical clutch ensure smooth chronograph operation. Developed in collaboration with Breitling, this high-performance chronograph calibre showcases the best of both brands' expertise.
