After the successful launch of the Legacy Machine No. 1 in white gold and red gold came the LM1 platinum in a limited edition of 33 pieces more than four years ago. A wild, extreme, outrageous, unrestrained timepiece with a traditional and classical round shape. With its monumental central balance; completely independent dual time zones and unique vertical power reserve indicator the MB&F Legacy Machine No. 1 —LM1— is a watch that combines the most avant-garde design with the most traditional watchmaking principles and finishing. But above all, an authentic three-dimensional MB&F Machine like no other.
Its movement, developed by Jean-François Mojon and his team at Chronode is exquisitely finished with the utmost respect to tradition by Kari Voutilainen. With immaculate Geneva waves, highly-polished gold chatons and bridges with impeccably executed bevels, the movement is simply absolutely peerless finished.
Fitted with a robust 44 mm case, the engine of the LM1 is composed of 279 components and 23 jewels to provide a power reserve of 45 hours while beating at a frequency of 18,000 vph. Fitted with a unique vertical power reserve indicator, the two dials display completely independent time zones, all rounded out by a beautiful black hand-stitched alligator strap with platinum tang buckle.
A symphony of watchmaking details and an ode to independent watchmaking. The MB&F LM1 Platinum is a perfect example of the finesse and prowess gleaned from decades of watchmaking by independent horologists that have now become a true force in the Swiss watchmaking industry. These images could very well be one of the best wallpapers to celebrate independent watchmaking. Enjoy!
