First launched in 2019, the Legacy Machine FlyingT was MB&F’s first-ever machine dedicated to women. It embodies elegance and vitality over the softer conventions of womanhood. Awarded the prize for Best Ladies’ Complication at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the Legacy Machine FlyingT launched in three different 18K white gold versions. Then in 2020, they were joined by limited editions in red gold and platinum, featuring guilloche dials as well as the sixth edition with a Lapis Lazuli dial and an 18K white gold case set with diamonds. Last year, MB&F added a malachite dial version and today, MB&F is presenting this masterpiece with a gorgeous tiger eye dial.
This is the third version of a series of gemstone editions that MB&F will announce once a year. After Lapis Lazuli and Malachite comes the stunning tiger eye dial. Tiger eye is a gemstone with a brownish golden to brown color and a silky sheen with a translucent opaqueness and iron stripes. Tiger eye is mainly mined in Australia and South Africa. Tiger eye is composed of silicon dioxide and is colored mainly by iron oxide.
Powering this new edition is the same movement with the soaring vertical structure of the FlyingT movement, topped by a 60-second flying tourbillon. The sun-shaped winding rotor ensures the automatic movement is fully wound, offering 100 hours of power reserve.
The time is displayed thanks to delicate serpentine hands on a tilted subdial placed at 7 o’clock, visible only to the wearer of the watch; an unconventional layout underlining the intimate, personal nature of the LM FlyingT.
