Inspired by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Polaris from 1968, the Polaris collection was introduced as a sporty-elegant option at Jaeger-LeCoultre for those that love the brand but whose lifestyle aligns more with sportier watches. The utilitarian functions, vintage design codes, and modern standards of timekeeping performance are characteristics that distinguish the new Polaris Date with a green gradient dial.
Things to Know About the Watch
The JLC Polaris Date green gradient dial is equipped with a satin-brushed 42 mm stainless steel case and a gorgeous glossy lacquered, double-gradient dial with multiple textured finishes. A true chameleon depending on lighting conditions, the color gradient ranges from light olive to verdant rainforest and everything in between. Additionally, there is a balanced mix of opaline, grained and sunrayed surfaces throughout the dial segments.
Equipped with an inner rotating bezel that is controlled by the crown at the 2 o’clock position, this is a true diver’s watch with a water-resistance up to 200 meters.
The Polaris Date with green gradient dial is exclusively sold at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques worldwide but it is not a limited edition or controlled production watch.
The green dial on the Polaris Date is exquisitely finished and very good looking. The dial conveys the all-terrain nature of the timepiece and its heritage character is further emphasized by the light beige superluminova indexes suggesting the patina of a well-aged timepiece from the late 60s. The hands are of the Bâton à facette type and are also inlaid with superluminova.
The Movement
The Polaris Date features a display case back that allows for full views of the latest-generation Calibre 899, with a power reserve of 70 hours. This automatic 32-jewel movement is composed of 218 parts and one barrelt. The movement is exquisitely finished with Côtes de Geneve, perlage and chamfering on its bridges. The movement features a skeletonized oscillating weight with JLC’s anchor logo and it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
The Strap
For maximum versatility the new Polaris Date green gradient dial comes with an olive green rubber strap that is easy to change thanks to its quick-change system. The strap is secured by a stainless steel double folding clasp.
On the Wrist & Price
On the wrist, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Green gradient dial wears true to its size and with incredible wrist presence. A very sporty and extremely functional watch that we absolutely love. A watch that has a very vintage aura and that could be strap on the wrist of a spec ops agent paired with a khaki uniform. A true stunner and a chameleon with a dozen shades of green.
