In the past, we've also featured a Porsche 911 Carrera S in the company of a Richard Mille RM015 Le Mans Classic here. This time, we bring you what we think is one of the best matches between a car and a watch, what we like to call a 'match made in heaven'. The Porsche 911 Carrera S a.k.a. 991 is a one of those cars that exudes power whichever way you look at it and what better match to it than a discontinued Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad ref. 25940OK.OO.D002CA.02.
While the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad features an anthracite dial with 'Méga Tapisserie' pattern with Arabic numerals and pink gold Royal Oak hands, the Porsche 911 Carerra S is fitted with a platinum silver metallic exterior that compliments that dial just perfectly.
As we take a look inside the Porsche 911 Carrera S, its sand beige leather and alcantara interior compliment the 42 mm x 14.5 mm 18K rose gold case of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad ref. 25940OK.
Furthermore, the tachometer on the Porsche 911 Carrera S comes in a light grey color reminiscent of the lighter grey colored dial on the first generation of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad in 18K rose gold. Could this match be more perfect?
While the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad ref. 25940OK is still not powered by an in-house chronograph, its automatic calibre 2326/2840 is still a very fine modular movement with a power reserve of 38 hours.
Meanwhile, under the rear hood of the 911 Carrera S, we have an in-house Stuttgart made flat-six 3.8L engine capable of boasting 400hp at 7,400 rpm.
All in all, this is definitely a match made in heaven and one that we didn't even know could exist until we got the car and watch together.
