The De Bethune DB28 Kind of Gold is a very exclusive 10-piece limited edition exclusively available for the U.S. market. A watch that clearly embraces the principles and values of the manufacture, this time is fitted with a 5N rose gold round shaped middle case with a diameter 42.60 mm and a thickness of 9.20 mm, featuring the traditional short and long floating lugs in mirrored polished blued grade 5 titanium. The finish of the middle case and the floating lugs is as exceptional as it gets and the blued openworked dial and lugs create an endless symphony against the warm tones of the 5N rose gold middle case.
Things to Know About the Watch
The blued dial in mirror polished grade 5 titanium features an hours ring with polished steel hour markers, a sunken minute rign and the signature De Bethune spherical moon-phase indication in palladium and flame-blued steel at 6 o’clock. The skeletonized polished hands this time in 5N rose gold, evoke the design of the traditional Breguet hands but with a strong modern touch. Right above the moon-phase indication, a beautifully finished blued bridge supports the elegantly finished De Bethune balance wheel and its flat-terminal curve spring. A performance indicator is located between 2 and 3 o’clock.
The De Bethune DB28 Kind of Gold is delivered on a blue alligator strap with gold contrast stitching and a blued grade 5 titanium pin buckle. A perfect combination that matches the color of the case and dial.
The Movement
Flipping the watch over, reveals full and unobstructed views of the hand decorated De Bethune manual-wound calibre DB2115V4 composed of 297 parts, a self regulating twin barrel, 38 jewels, a spherical moon-phase indication accurate to a degree of one lunar day every 122 years, a snailed mainplate, Côtes De Bethune and a power reserve indicator with rose gold solar-tip shaped hand. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph while providing a long lasting power reserve of 6 days.
On the Wrist & Price
On the wrist, De Bethune DB28 Kind of Gold wears slightly larger than its actual size due to its floating lugs. A very unique looking watch and a flawless example of 'haute horlogerie' that doesn't come with an astronomical price tag for the caliber of timepiece you are getting. This watch is available in a limited edition of only 10 pieces exclusively sold in the U.S. market.
