Insider: De Bethune DB Digitale Evergreen. One of Our Favorite Limited Editions.

De Bethune presented the DB Digitale —aka DBD— Evergreen Limited Edition on the first day of Dubai Watch Week 2023 instantly becoming a Middle Eastern icon thanks to its rich hue of green, drawing its inspiration from the profound symbolism of the color green in the extensive history and culture of the Middle East. Presented in a limited edition of only 20 pieces, the DBD Evergreen is one of our favorite editions from De Bethune.

The De Bethune DBD watch is a remarkable example of contemporary horology, combining cutting-edge technology with exquisite craftsmanship with its triple digital display for the calendar indications that include a horizontal day, date, and month display at 12 o’clock, minute indication at the center of the dial, and digital jumping hour indication at 6 o’clock.

Things to Know About the Watch

The De Bethune DB Digitale Evergreen is equipped with a case in polished grade 5 titanium with a diameter of 42.6 mm and a thickness of 9.4 mm. The case with its cone-shaped lugs is very unique and is equipped with a winding crown at 12 o’clock. The green dial is exquisitely finished with Côtes de Genève. The hour, minute, day, date, and month discs are in white with black relief transfers for optimal readability.

The watch displays include a jumping hour window at 6 o’clock, an analogical minute indicator on a rotating disc at the center of the dial, and a day, date, and month jumping window at 12 o’clock.

Digital displays on mechanical watches represent an intriguing fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. While mechanical watches are celebrated for their intricate gears and analog dials, the incorporation of digital displays introduces features such as multifunctional timekeeping, date indications, and even alarms. This blend allows enthusiasts to enjoy the aesthetic appeal of a mechanical movement while benefiting from the precision and adaptability of a digital display.

The De Bethune DBD Evergreen is delivered on a beige extile strap with a green calf leather insert and green calf leather keepers.
