Since the early 20th century, Cartier has been renowned for its exquisite high jewelry pieces featuring intricate animal shapes. The iconic Panther motif, first introduced in 1914, quickly became synonymous with the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and creativity. Inspired by the exoticism of the Art Deco period, Cartier continued to innovate, incorporating other animals such as birds, crocodiles, and snakes into their designs. These animal-shaped pieces not only showcase Cartier's expertise in gem-setting and sculpting but also reflect the brand's longstanding fascination with the natural world. Today, Cartier's menagerie of animal-inspired jewelry remains a testament to the Maison's rich heritage and visionary artistry.
The new Cartier Crocodile Jewelry watch is a perfect example of these high-jewelry watches. Combining diamonds with emeralds in a white gold case and bracelet, the Crocodile jewelry watch is more of a piece of high jewelry than a watch. High jewelry represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship, where master jewelers painstakingly create exquisite pieces that showcase the beauty of precious stones. These stones, in this case diamonds and emeralds, are carefully selected for their exceptional quality and unmatched brilliance. The intricate designs of high jewelry pieces are often adorned with these precious stones, adding a touch of luxury and glamour to the finished creations. From dazzling diamond necklaces to vibrant gemstone earrings, high jewelry serves as a testament to the artistry and creativity of the designers who bring these breathtaking pieces to life, and Cartier is one of the best at using gemstones in a very tasteful way.
