Despite the use of a brand name that could’ve not been any worse —trying to convey the founder’s last name Baillod using a combination of letters and ones—, Chapter 4.1 The Veblen Dilemma is the latest from Swiss watch brand BA111OD. This Swiss-made tourbillon is offered under CHF 4,000 Swiss Francs —approximately $4,300 USD—, bringing a breath of fresh air to an overtly saturated industry where Swiss-made tourbillons are typically not available at a low price point.

Introducing: MB&F LM Perpetual EVO Titanium

Almost exactly a year ago, MB&F presented the LM Perpetual EVO fitted with a zirconium case and three different dial plates in black, blue, and atomic orange. At the time, MB&F explained how the EVO suffix marked a significant evolution of the MB&F story thanks to a redesigned, sleeker case, ergonomic double-sprung pushers, an integrated rubber strap, Super-LumiNova, a specially developed ‘FlexRing’ shock-absorbing system, a screw-down crown, and 80 meters of water resistance.

News: GPHG 2021 Jury Announced and it Includes Halim Trujillo Founder of WCL

Today October 12, 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland the jury for the 2021 edition of the GPHG was officially announced. The GPHG jury is composed of 30 personalities from the world of art and watchmaking. The jury will be presided by its new president Nick Foulkes. This jury will determine the 2021 prize list. For the very first time the jury includes Halim Trujillo the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of our publication Watch Collecting Lifestyle.

But after perusing the watch, all we can say is wow. Hublot has been mastering the use of ceramics in their watches for a very long time and creating a baby blue watch was not an easy operation.

When the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar was presented at the SIHH 2019 I was quite impressed by it, but unfortunately I didn’t get to spend much time with it back then. Later that year, I got to peruse the watch a second time and it continued to grow on me. Then, recently, I ran into a collector who was wearing one and I thought I should talk more about it because I still can’t understand why this watch is not more popular.
