News: Vacheron Constantin Opens Second Boutique in Mexico and Latin America in the City of Monterrey

In December 2024, Vacheron Constantin opened its second boutique in Mexico and Latin America in the city of Monterrey. The new Vacheron Constantin Boutique Monterrey is located in the upscale and exclusive area of San Pedro Garza García in Monterrey, Mexico, and is operated by EMWA one of the most important authorized dealers in Mexico particularly in the northern region of the country where Monterrey is located.

This boutique is focused on offering a unique and intimate experience, where collectors will be able to explore everything from the simplest watches to those with the most intricate complications, as well as limited pieces and exclusive models.

"We are delighted to welcome Mexican enthusiasts and connoisseurs to the world of haute horology and the Vacheron Constantin tradition in Monterrey. The boutique celebrates the relationship between our Maison and Mexico, which has existed for 177 years." —Alexander Schmiedt, President of the Americas, Vacheron Constantin.

The new boutique highlights the long relationship between the Maison and Mexico, dating back to Vacheron Constantin's arrival in 1845 and continuing to the present day. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Vacheron Constantin boutique in Monterrey was attended by distinguished guests, including collectors, lovers of haute horlogerie, and representatives of the Maison, who celebrated the opening in an intimate and distinguished setting. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to explore Vacheron Constantin’s iconic collections and enjoy an experience that reflected the values of excellence, craftsmanship, and tradition that distinguish the Maison.

In 1832, Vacheron Constantin began its expansion into America, establishing its first team in New York City. Just three years later, the Maison reached Central America, and in 1845, it established itself in Mexico, where it received its first formal order through a Swiss correspondent in Mexico City.

The first order consisted of hunter-case watches and was made in response to the needs of the Mexican market, where the climate required reliable and robust timepieces. The Royal Chronometer was specially designed to withstand the country’s climatic conditions and became a great success.

Over the years, special orders became increasingly popular, and Vacheron Constantin consolidated its presence in the country. In Vacheron Constantin's private collection, there is a custom-made watch created for the Mexican president, General Álvaro Obregón (1920-1924), a testament to the long relationship between the Maison and Mexico.

The Monterrey boutique is distinguished by its refined and intimate design, which invites visitors to enjoy a personalized haute horology experience. Upon entering, collectors are welcomed by an open table that allows them to explore the various watch collections. In the background, there is a wall of blue straw marquetry featuring the distinctive Maltese Cross motif, a symbol of Vacheron Constantin’s tradition. Finally, there is a VIP room for personalized appointments, a focal point that reflects the Maison’s dedication to haute horology.

Visitors will be able to explore a variety of models from Vacheron Constantin's most iconic collections, including Patrimony, Traditionnelle, Overseas, and Fiftysix. These collections offer a range of complications, from the simplest to the most sophisticated. Additionally, the boutique features exclusive models available only in this space. One of the standout pieces is the Égérie collection, dedicated to women, which blends the world of Haute Couture with Haute Horology —a masterpiece that combines elegance and technique in every detail. The modern and elegant design of this space reflects the values of the Maison: excellence, craftsmanship, and tradition, offering a warm welcome to all those who wish to discover the art of high-end watchmaking.
