A new budget brand has been born today in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Named H992, its name comes from the letter ‘H’ in horology, hour and humanity; and the number ‘992’ is the altitude of its birth place —La Chaux-de-Fonds— which is 992 meters above the sea level. Featuring a very contemporary design that seems like a hybrid between a Zenith Defy and a Hublot Integral, the new H992 is presented in a limited edition of only 992 pieces and priced at CHF 992 Swiss Francs —approximately $1,000 USD.
The men and women of La Chaux-de-Fonds take great pleasure in creating timepieces and this watch was created by a think tank of professionals in the world of Haute Horologerie. Cased in stainless steel —or black PVD stainless steel—, the H992 features a generous case size at 42 mm in diameter and is powered by the Swiss Sellita automatic movement calibre SW260-1 which has been COSC certified. Visible via the display case back, this 31-jewel movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph and provides a power reserve of 38 hours.
Nine models conform the H1 collection all cased in stainless steel —or black PVD stainless steel— and available with either an integrated stainless steel bracelet with double folding deployant clasp —only available for the stainless steel models— or on a black rubber strap. All watches feature date indication and running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.
There are four different dials including black, blue, green and silver, and all watches feature a display case back, are water-resistant to 100 meters and equipped with sapphire crystals with double anti-reflective treatment on the inside.
Gorgeous watches to say the least and for that price not bad at all.
