Insider: H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine. An F1-Related Watch That's Not 'In Your Face'.

The first thing that comes to mind when someone talks about a watch created for a partnership with a Formula 1 team is a loud and over-the-top —most of the time loaded with team logos— watch in the colors of the team part of the partnership. However, then there are those watches like the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition that are not ‘in your face’ and are executed flawlessly when it comes to capitalizing on a motorsports partnership.

The Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition is attuned to the aesthetic tastes of the stable’s F1 drivers and endurance racing team, with a touch of color in the form of a small domed dial in bright blue or pink synthetic spinel and a matching rubber strap. A dynamic context for the open-worked cylindrical tourbillon automatic movement. The new watch is available in a Blue Livery —limited to 100 pieces— or a special Pink Livery, honoring the colors of the BTW Alpine Formula 1 Team and BWT’s signature pink color. Limited to 20 pieces, the Pink Livery watch will only be available online through H. Moser & Cie’s website.

Things to Know About the Watch

The new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition features a stainless steel case measuring 42.3 mm in diameter and the open-worked dial with anthracite-finished bridges features a cylindrical tourbillon that takes the center stage at 6 o’clock. A feat in precision and a kinetic sculpture to admire, the hours and minutes are indicated at 12 o’clock in a small bright blue domed dial.

The Streamlinner case features recessed and satin-finished forms on the sides, with alternating polished and brushed surfaces, and is fitted with a subtly domed sapphire crystal, echoed by the see-through case back. In 2022, H. Moser & Cie. presented the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton and made a remarkable entry into the skeleton watch segment, while defining its codes for the skeleton aesthetic.

The level of skeletonization on the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition doesn’t leave much to the imagination. There’s so much metal that has been removed from the bridges on this movement that everything is truly visible including the mainspring within a hollowed-out barrel, the skeletonized oscillating weight can be seen from the front, and every component in this movement is visible to the naked eye.

Pointing to white Globolight indices, the three-dimensional hour and minute hands made from two sections feature inserts with Globolight, an innovative ceramic-based material containing Super-LumiNova. Seemingly floating in the middle of a void, a one-minute flying tourbillon positioned at six o'clock comes to life to power this exceptional timepiece. The watch is water resistant to 120 meters.

The Movement

Powering this exceptionally good-looking timepiece is the skeletonized in-house H. Moser & Cie. automatic movement calibre HMC 811. This three-dimensional calibre housing H. Moser & Cie.’s in-house cylindrical hairspring and the one-minute flying tourbillon features a gold skeletonized oscillating weight and the dark main plate and bridges with anthracite finish offer an alluring contrast. The movement provides a power reserve of 74 hours when fully wound.
