The new Grand Seiko 200m Diver SLGA015 is inspired by the Black Stream —Kuroshio Current. The Kuroshio Current also known as the Black or Japan Current —Nihon Kairyū— flows northwards past Japan towards the North Pacific and is one of the largest ocean streams in the world. The dynamic and sometimes violent tides caused by the Black Stream inspire the deep black color and richly textured surface of the dial of this new 200m diver’s watch. The dial features a date aperture at 3 and a power reserve indicator between 9 and 8 o’clock.
The 43.8 mm high-density titanium case is about 30% lighter than stainless steel and brighter in color. The crown guard on each side of the screw-down crown is carefully designed to avoid being caught by sleeves in both sport activities and everyday use and the curved profile of the case ensures a good fit on the wrist. The bracelet features three fold deployant clasp with secure lock and extender. The inner section of the rotating bezel is made of black ceramic and the case is exquisitely finished in line with Grand Seiko’s watchmaking principles.
The Grand Seiko 200m Diver SLGA015 ‘Black Stream’ is powered by the Spring Drive Calibre 9RA5 that offers an accuracy rate of ±10 seconds per month and a 5 day power reserve. The movement is protected by a solid case back that ensures a water resistance of 200 meters.
On the wrist, the new Grand Seiko 200m Diver SLGA015 'Black Stream’ wears slightly smaller than its actual size and more like a 42 mm watch. This watch without limitation will be available in August, 2022 at the Grand Seiko Boutiques and selected Grand Seiko retail partners worldwide.
