Encased in a 41 mm black ceramic case, the watch features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, uniquely hollowed at its center in the shape of a spherical cap, adding depth to the Earth within. To achieve a realistic and faithful depiction of Earth, Bell & Ross employed a precise decal process beneath the glass, ensuring both accuracy and legibility. The dial’s glass is sculpted into a spherical cap, adding depth and dimension to the Earth’s representation. Crafting and positioning the hands—particularly to accommodate the engraved Moon—required the same meticulous engineering as any high-precision timepiece.
The function of the small satellite is both simple and precise: it marks the seconds, completing a full orbit around Earth in 60 seconds. Meanwhile, the Moon tracks the minutes, and Mars follows its gradual path to indicate the hours. A blue aventurine plate represents space with a mysterious hour hand with a transparent plate on which a representation of Mars is drawn. The minute hand for the Moon is in laser-engraved metal to show the craters, and the second hand with the satellite is also in laser-engraved metal. The Earth in the centre is recessed into the sapphire with a decal.
With a sleek black exterior reminiscent of the vastness of space, the BR-03 Astro stands as a bold expression of style and individuality. Encased in 41mm of micro black ceramic with an 11.5 mm profile, it embodies both strength and sophistication. Designed for resilience, it boasts 100-meter water resistance and features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, meticulously sculpted with a spherical cap at its center to bring Earth into striking relief.
At its core lies the Swiss automatic mechanical movement BR.CAL-327 with a 54-hour reserve, ensuring both precision and performance. The watch is complemented by a black rubber strap, fastened with a black PVD-coated steel pin buckle—a nod to its professional and technical heritage— and an additional black synthetic fabric is also included.
