Produced after the prototype that was released in 2018, the Royal Oak RD#2, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Ultra-Thin ref. 26586 is the thinnest perpetual calendar in the market at 6.2 mm in thickness. Available in titanium or 18K yellow gold —both with a smooth vertical satin-brushed dial instead of the usual tapisserie dial—, now comes a new iteration of this reference —sadly a unique piece— with a smoked ivory-colored dial and white gold applied special eastern-Arabic hour-markers.
The new Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin ref. 26586XT.OO.1240XT.99 unique piece is cased in a 41 mm titanium case and it features for the very first time a bezel in BMG —palladium-based bulk metallic glass. The titanium bracelet features center links also in BMG.
This limited edition combines satin-brushed titanium with polished BMG —palladium-based bulk metallic glass— for an endless play of light. The satin-brushed smoked ivory dial is enhanced with silver subdials and white gold Eastern Arabic numerals. The perpetual calendar display has been rearranged and features a specially designed moon indication at 12 o’clock.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Unique Piece Arabic Markers ref. 26586XT.OO.1240XT.99 is powered by the automatic calibre 5133 composed of 256 parts and 37 jewels. This movement provides a power reserve of 40 hours when fully wound and for the first time, it is equipped with a special oscillating weight with a skeletonized Moorish motif to die for.
The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Unique Piece Arabic Markers ref. 26586XT.OO.1240XT.99 was just released in the Middle East and most likely will be offered there first and will probably sell this same week.
