Artisans de Genève is an independent company specialized in the personalization of timepieces. They are not affiliated with Patek Philippe SA nor authorized by them to intervene on their products for any reason whatsoever. This personalization was ordered by a customer, who owns a Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5711/1R and wanted something different and special for his private use. This unique timepiece is an example of their know-how and the personalization services Artisans de Genève offers at their customers' request.
The Honey Pearl Project is a pure stylistic exercise that follows the Pearl Project created at the beginning of the year. This time, their client wanted to combine the technical aspect of a skeletonized calibre with a unique color and material combination that included his Nautilus 5711/1R in 18K rose gold, a touch of blue and red, and also anthracite grey. Their client defined a color scheme and materials for a perfect balance. He chose blue for the flange around the dial combined with the warmth of the 18K rose gold case and a touch of red on the seconds hand for high contrast. The harmony blends wonderfully with the graphic lines of the skeleton movement in a very sporty manner.
The Honey Pearl Project Nautilus 5711/1R is both a technical and aesthetic feat. The blue dial flange is a new development by Artisans de Genève, and the piece is further elevated by its rose gold indexes and the satin-brush finish on it. The hands’ shape was chosen by their client, they are beveled and satin-brushed enhancing the technicality of the skeleton calibre, and the seconds hand features a red accent throughout the bottom half of it.
The automatic Patek Philippe calibre 26-330 SC had to be skeletonized and carved with immense precision. No less than hundreds of hours of work were necessary to achieve the work of art all the way from beveling, to circular-graining and lastly polishing. The team at Artisans de Genève called upon a variety of craftsmen to achieve a result that exceeded their client’s expectations.
Each part of the 26-330 SC movement was painstakingly cut, satin-finished, and delicately beveled by hand. The original gold rotor was also finely skeletonized and beveled by hand, with their client wanting to keep the original elegant blend of the satin-brush and mirror polish finish, as well as the signature Calatrava cross on the original oscillating weight.
The end result was simply dramatic and breathtaking. While the personalization took a very long time to complete, we believe that it was totally worth the wait.
Sticker Price CHF 62,520 Swiss Francs —approximately $67,500 USD. The price for the personalization does not include the watch, as this needs to be supplied by the client.
