Tudor is launching a unique new version of its popular Black Bay Fifty-Eight model in solid 18K yellow gold with an open case back. Just like with the new Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925, the release of a watch in gold marks another two firsts for a Tudor divers' watch. Among other aesthetic nods to this historical watch, this model offers a case 39 mm in diameter in keeping with the characteristic proportions of the 1950s.
Ideal for slim wrists, vintage enthusiasts, and those who like objects with a difference, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K is also the first Tudor divers' watch to be made in solid gold and equipped with an open case back. The 39 mm case is satin finished matte and it features a domed crystal with a domed dial in green color with applied hour markers. The watch is equipped with ‘Snowflake’ hands, one of the hallmarks of the Tudor divers’ watches from 1969.
Powering this watch is the in-house Manufacture Calibre MT5400, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute —COSC— with a hairspring in silicon and a 70-hour power reserve.
The watch is delivered with a chocolate brown domed alligator strap with an 18K yellow gold buckle and with a second strap in Jacquard fabric with a gold stripe and also fitted with an 18K yellow gold matching buckle. Another brilliant release by Tudor and another green watch for Watches & Wonders 2021 as green becomes the new blue. And for the price not bad at all considering this is a solid gold 18K yellow gold watch.
