The new Jaquet Droz Tourbillon Skelet Sapphire Opal ref. J0135270091 is a unique piece with a sapphire crystal case that bathes a translucent opal dial. Vibrant and radiant, this 42 mm piece, paired with a pristinely white strap, changes appearance with the light. Draped in sapphire, beneath a veil of opal, the piece subtly allows some of its usually hidden mechanism to be glimpsed. Its skeleton movement suspended in space is powered by an automatic self-winding movement with a flying tourbillon and an outstanding power reserve of eight days.

Today, Jaquet Droz unveils three new unique limited-edition versions of the Grande Seconde Skelet-One. Its signature figure-eight design is formed by an entirely sapphire dial along with indexes and hands in 18K gold suspended above a brushed hours and minutes ring. At 6 o’clock, the large seconds hand that soars over the sapphire creates the illusion that it is floating, while directly below the tiniest details of a hand-crafted movement can be admired.

Pierre Jaquet Droz founded his namesake company in 1738 as a manufacturer of automatons and watches mostly for the Chinese Emperor.
