SIHH 2016: Presenting the new Officine Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic PAM 627. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.
Four new models made their entry into the Panerai Radiomir 1940 Collection this year at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève. This time Panerai is offering Paneristi watch enthusiasts not only a broader selection of creative dial designs but also and most importantly an ever wider choice of technical features. As in all Panerai watches, the dial of the new Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic PAM 627 is notable for its extreme legibility, both under normal lighting conditions and also in the dark. Featuring this time a black dial with 'Clous de Paris', the new PAM 627 features large baton hour markers, Arabic numerals covered with ecru superluminova and a 24-hour day/night indicator with superimposed running seconds at 9 o'clock.
The new Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic PAM 627 is fitted with a mirror polished case measuring 45 mm in diameter and a matching mirror polished bezel. The watch comes with a calf Monte Carlo black strap with beige contrast stitching with thumb pin buckle.
Powering the new Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic PAM 627 is the new Panerai in-house automatic calibre P.4001. This new movement entirely executed by Panerai is composed of 278 parts and features 31 jewels, KIF Parechoc anti-shock device, 3-day power reserve indicator on the main plate, two barrels and micro-rotor. The balance wheel beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
The watch wears true to its size and really elegant. While we are not big fans of texturized dials on Panerai watches, we really like this new execution with the 'Clous de Paris' pattern. In person, this watch is a true stunner and wears simply beautifully.
