SIHH 2016: Presenting the New Officine Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days PAM 663. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.

Now, straight from Geneva, here's the second Panerai we absolutely fell in love with. May we present you our hands-on live pics of the new from SIHH 2016 Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days PAM 663. The distinctive, original element of the model is the brownish dial and the unique looking 'Ponte Vecchio' strap.

In this new Luminor 1950 model, the brownish sandwich dial with ecru superluminova, is fitted with the robust 47 mm case, immediately recognizable by the crown protecting lever which exercises a light pressure on the winding crown to protect it from accidental shocks and to help ensure the watch’s water resistance. This device had certainly been invented and used even earlier, perhaps even before the end of the 1940s, but the patent application was only lodged as late as 1955, probably delayed because of the military secrecy imposed by the Italian Navy.

Its sandwich dial is flawlessly executed with a gorgeous color never seen before on modern Panerais, gold hands and with the Luminor Panerai branding engraved on it like on the PAM 372.

The watch, in good historical Panerai fashion comes with the reference between the lugs at 6 o'clock. This new Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days PAM 663 is equipped with the gorgeous calf Ponte Vecchio dark brown strap with beige contrast stitching measuring 26/22. The strap comes with the trapezoidal polished steel buckle measuring 22 mm. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters. The strap shows the OP logo on both the 12 and 6 o'clock sides.

Just like its sibling the PAM 662 or the PAM 372, the watch is powered by the manual wound Panerai in-house calibre P.3000 with a power reserve 3 days with two barrels and composed of 164 components.

On the wrist, this is without a doubt one of our favorite historical Panerais ever. The watch wears true to its actual 47 mm size. If you have issues with the Panerai crown guard digging into your wrist, the PAM 662 might be a better option for only $400 USD less.

Sticker Price $10,200 USD. For more info on Officine Panerai click here.
